I honestly do not know the reason, but I do concur that Louisville drivers are certainly some of the worst, if not the very worst, in this nation. I've resided in many places across this country. North to south, east to west. Visited many other countries and five continents. Never have I witnessed the degree of ineptitude in auto operation that I witness right here at home. I would be greatly interested if anyone is privy to an explanation. It still strikes me funny to hear local drivers speak ill of Hoosiers and Californians

Stop lights here in the Highlands are apparently optional, I ride a bike most of the time and must constantly be on alert for coffee guzzling cellphone talking teenagers and BMW drivers that think everyone else on the road is in their way. Boston drivers are crazy but consistant.

Same here....I drive all over the usa and all across canada and have never seen such bad drivers as i do here....Has anyone heard of a turn signal here?? Seems like the more expensive the car the worse the driver. I see why my insurance went up over 300 dollars when i moved here.

I think it boils back to the fact that a lot of Louisvillians are idiots. I mean, how friggin bright do you have to be to use a turn signal. I made a complaint to a police department employee one day and they lamented the fact that the cops dont even use their own lights. I've seen it all here from people running lights to people cutting you off to people cutting off 3 cars because they can't read the interstate pointing signs. I mean if it says Watterson west then get in that lane, Downtown Louisville that lane or East that right lane coming north.

Combined with the fact that a lot of the roads are bombed out and not in good repair or totally obsolete off ramps to other places doesnt help. Its pretty sad.

They are the worst drivers in the country.

Because they're chronically stupid and have spent years lowering the IQ of the gene pool in Kentucky. It explains why Kentucky is just about at the bottom of every statistical category in nearly every area of all 50 states. Only states like Mississippi, West Virginia, Arkansas, and Alabama are worse.
