Just found this post. Why Crestwood?

When I heard about this water incident my jaw dropped. Could this be why ...?

We moved to Crestood in Nov 1991 with a 5 year old and a 6 month old. We had two more children. All seemed perfect ...schools are good, community, neighbors, our tax rebate. We love it here. Who could have imagined that our water would be tainted!!

August 2007 our daughter then 14 years old was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She has been through 3 brain surgeries. She has been labeled as having a life threatening illness. She has to be continuously monitored through MRI's to see if its back. This I'm sure will be for the rest of her life.

Could this be a result of tainted water?

I have lived in Crestwood my entire life, 35 years. I have seen my mother pass from cancer and have seen many members of my family effected with headaches and migranes. I am outraged that this has been going on with the knowledge from our mayor and former mayor. What I do not understand, is why people from Crestwood are not asking the key questions such has what is this going to do our health?? I want the village of Crestwood to pay for a workup and see what effects drinking this water has had on my body... what about the children who have been drinking this water. My concern are the health issues involved with this.

Over the the last 20 years, other than my mom's case I have heard of multiple cases of cancer in the Crestwood/Playfield area, especially on our street, 130th. If anyone has had a case in their family or knows someone who has, please pass along their info.

Everybody that grew up in Crestwood knows somebody that died of cancer. I know several. I lived there from 1973 until 1999. I worked ten yrs for the fire dept and this mixing of water was common knowledge if you worked for the village. Everything in Crestwood is a joke, from the mayor, trustees, village manager, fire,& police. I moved away and never looked back. Most of the people i grew up with in Crestwood have done the same thing. Its a horrible and depressing place. I feel sorry for those that choose to call this place home.

A reply for #147.

If you knew of the tainted water, why did you not report it. Instead, you chose to move away and never look back. Why would you feel sorry for us now? Shame on You!

I am currently recovering from kidney cancer surgery and have lived in Crestwood for over 15 years. I feel deceived and will definitely be pursuing legal options. Check out channel 7 news tonight at 5pm.

I'm with you "angry crestwood resident". I moved to Crestwood in 1990 when I was 14 and had a serious illness in my 20's, I'm now 32 and have been out of Crestwood for about 5 years and my illness and symptoms are gone. I had no diagnosis for what was happening to me and even went to the Mayo Clinic and came back home with no diagnosis. I have a child of my own now, and would hate to find out I have cancer in 10 years due to drinking contaiminated water! If these accusations are true, something needs to be done.

If I put poison in my neighbor's soda pop, I'd be arrested for attempted murder.

Why aren't the mayor, his son, and the rest of the city council culprits sitting in jail with charges of attempted (or pehaps really murder)?

Ooops, sorry Mother. I failed to say i knew about the mixing but not about the poison. Im sure that there was only a select few that got to know about that inside information. But im sure there where plenty that knew about it and did nothing. Im furious about the fact that i drank this water not only at home but at work as well. My wife lost her mother from cancer (also crestwood residents) and i had a total of 4 cats that died of cancer over different periods of time.

I just found out about the contaminated water in Crestwood. Im blown away, my half brother lost his two aunts, both at the age of 27, and grandfather. All who lived in crestwood almost their whole lives, three different cancers. Also, my grandmother nows has cancer she lived ther for the past 45 years. Could the water have caused this.

It's pretty sad around town now. Being a resident I don't know what goes on in the Village behind closed doors. Two years ago my daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor. No cancer but scarry enough. I also had a cat die of cancer. Interesting. Karma to the culprits. What comes around goes around ... sometimes twice as bad.

During the time that is in question in regards to the drinking water in Crestwood, I was a resident in that area. My 28 year old son was recently diagnosed with a form of non-hodgkins lymphona called Follicular Lymphoma. There is no family history of this disease. My question is: Did this have any thing to do with this diagnosis?

it must have been the water that you drank. I live in Crestwood. Just because my ISP address says Tinley Park does not mean I live in Tinley Park. You address says United States. Now who is the retard? by the way this is a public blog. No go run along and look up what that means.
