The flag is to be flown at half-staff at all county, state and village buildings in honor of a fallen soldier from that state. Spc. Jared Stanker (Army) from Evergreen Park was killed on Oct 27th from an IED in Afghanistan. Jared is a 2006 graduate of Brother Rice High School. Could Crestwood please fly our flag at half-staff in honor of this young man.

To amend title 4, United States Code, to authorize the Governor of a State, territory, or possession of the United States to order that the National flag be flown at half-staff in that State, territory, or possession in the event of the death of a member of the Armed Forces from that State, territory, or possession who dies while serving on active duty.

The village of Crestwood has no clue about rules, laws, or plain old fashion etiquette.

You got it WRONG. While it is a given that we are saddened when our service personnel die in the line of duty while serving our county, we must honor the flag and how it is displayed.

This is the offical message from the Gov. office, and it is only STATE building ONLY.

Don't you dare put your games and vendeta of Crestwood on the memory of our American soldiers who die protecting your right to be stupid.

Excellent, I'm trilled the governor has decided to honor our fallen soldiers for the time stated. I agree this has nothing to do with how others feel about our village nor should this be a vendetta against the village. Friends of this young man will fly their personal flags in honor of Jared and all our of our military. I have live here 20 years and can honestly say I've never been happier living here. Thank you for finding that information out for all of us.

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Scorpio

Self-worship is easy and obvious, today. The real prize is when you turn from the mirror to see that others think just as highly of you. Take in all this love and amazement, and store some away for lean times in the future. Someone may give you an unexpected compliment later in the day, but don't let them know that it caught you off guard. After all, you still have your reputation as an egomaniac to uphold!
