Authorities say a search is under way for Saguache County man who's been missing since Tuesday.

We were friends of Chris and Melba, and met Mike on one of our trips to Colorado. He guided us on an amazing ride of the Monarch Crest trail. Mike is truly a unique soul and we'll be praying for his safe arrival home.

Has there been any news regarding Mike? Our family has known the Rust family for many, many years and my brother, Mike Chapman, who is currently teaching ESL in China, was quite concerned when he heard that Mike was missing.

Hey Karen, This is Mike's sister. Thanks for letting your brother know. Mike had told me that he had been in touch with your Mike. Remember when we called your brother "Bob" because he had that shirt with the name tag and because they both answered when they were called by Mom?
Lots of wonderful memories but too many were taken away. We are very, very sad.

Not one single day goes by that we aren't chilled to our very bones just thinking about this horrific crime. It was Mike's birthday last week and it was very tough for all of the family, especially my grandmother.

Hi Linda- Thanks for your positive thoughts, we really appreciate it. You & your family have never left our thoughts either. The hardest part is waiting for justice to take it's course and being far away from the area & other family members. We grieve every single day. I know you do, too.

It's hard to accept that there is such evil & violence in human beings. It sickens me to my core to even think aboout what happened. My two young children still ask how something like this could happen and I have no answer. What's worse is my mother now has cancer and is starting treatment when she should be with our family out in CO, who are still very involved in the investigation.

I enjoy hearing from you, Linda. I wish it was a safe place to give you my email or phone # but as we have continually seen here, there are still people who have nothing better to do than torment all of us who are grieving. I wish you some peace and resolution soon. We can only hope, as that is all we are all left with now.
