If JC wore a wire that says to me he was just trying to protect himself and not sure what was going on. I wouldn't be so quick to say someone tipped him off. Although that is possible.

To me it says that he knew darned well what had happened and that the victim would not go away. So he taped himself telling her he didn't remember; didn't recall it.

Where he blew it was when she told him she was raped. He took no further action. That is what tells me he is guilty. If I was the police cheif and not guilty as charged and a woman came to me with this story, which was not true, I sure would not have behaved as he did.

I would have denied it indignantly and started interrogating her as to why she was lying. Instead he just worried about himself and his buddy because he knew she was telling the truth!

I guess I don't understand if JC was there looking her in the face while the "rape" was taking place, did she report it to him after a week or so of it happening? If she was scared to report it, why go to one of the poeple that was there?

I beleive the DCI were involved within a few days. And remember he told her "THIS DID NOT HAPPEN". It is very understandable on her part, rape is a very frightening experience and not to act is something that goes with it. Shock can overwhem the victim. And in her case it would have been hell, the Creston Police Chief and the Creston ASS. Polices Chief were the ones who assulted her......what do you do with that....and when she tried the Chief did nothing and thank God that is on tape.

The Prosecution has a witness that will say he left the bar around 1:30 a.m. "Nobody was flirting, nobody was wasted, nobody was falling off thier bar stool, nobody's flashing breats, nobody is dancing on the table, there is no sexual talk."

Does not sound to me like she was doing anything wrong and there is a witness to testify to that..
guee all the slaming her did not pay off as it did not happen as mant reported on these posts.

After hearing and reading what is going on in the trial, I am even more convinced this rape took place, why would any woman put herself through this kind of humiliation. She is so brave for standing up to them and their "buddies". I can not even imagine how scared she must have been to come forward.

I agree with you, if there was ant doubt in my mind there is none now that thecase is all over the papers and news. What I find most interesting is the Chief Of The Creston Police Department. He does not seem to know what he saw and what he didn't see.
The victims conversations with him after the crime are real subject to him not reporting a crime to someone, it was not his call to make and should have been reported to the County Attorney. To me and many others it clearly shows he was protecting his friend and himself. NO women is going to put herself and loved ones thur this kind of scrutiny.
Our fine Chief (ex-chief) is in up to his knees.
Nothing he says is believable.
Makes you feel real safe doesn't it.
I was appalled at the way he spoke to her on the phone in those taped conversations, and at one point yelling at her.
They have disgraced the community and the police force.
I admire the victims surmountable courage to stand up to them.
I'll stand beside her no matter the outcome.

Where is all the claims that she was showing things and dancing on the tables?? The last person their didn't even see any of what they are saying happened!! Trying to push blame on everyone else is what they live for...It is never their fault!! HA LOL
It is over boys you wanted your chance to prove yourself and boy have you!

Go survivor!! Stay strong do not let them intimidate you now!!
The paper even said that originally JC agreed to 9 of the 10 things she stated in the DCI report! Explain that one away will ya!!

Well said, this whole trial looks like something out of oz, the victim is holding up well and standing her ground.
The defendents sound like children and one does not know for sure what he saw or did not see.
Hope the prosecutor checked into thier backgrounds, see what dirt she dug up, thier charqacter should be in grve question as they have tol;d so many conflicting versions of evemts.
Thank you... Survivor, for your courage and stead fast determination to put these two selfish men behinde bars. You have done a great service to the community and probably saved another form going the pain that you have had to endure. Stay strong, head up you have more support than you will ever realize.

Did anyone see the wink JC gave to I'm assuming his family yesterday during the trial? KCCI caught it on tape. I was so appaled when he did that. He had that same dumb ass grin on his face when he did it. It just shows how seriously he is taking this case and the disrespect he has for the Survivor.

Just read update of trial posted just a little while ago.
What does her memory of who was with Sickels and Christensen have to do with rape, and what does what she was wearing have to do with rape.
It would appear to me that the defense has little to nothing to contribute to these proceedings and what she was wearing should not be of interest to anyone. What we wear as women is not a prelude to sex let alone rape.
I am not impressed with the attorneys for the defendents and wonder if the3y too think they are guilty as so far they have presented nothing in behave of the tow they are fedending
I know thery want to attack her character, but come on, these are police officers and what were thery doing on that nights. Requesring oral sex, holding someone captive and having sex, consenual or not, what kind of character is that, asznd they both have wifes and children at home.
You want to talk about Character look at them.

Being a woman, I am thinking---if I am raped the last thing on my mind would be what I was wearing and who else was in the bar earlier. I'm sure she was thinking WTF just happened to me and how can I report this horrible crime to the police since they were the ones who committed the crime? Of course, that was the defense attorney's plan keep putting off the trial so her memory of that night becomes more cloudy. But her memory of what happened to her that night seems quite clear, her story hasn't changed.

I am a flirt by nature, is this defense team saying that if I flirt, wear a miniskirt, argue with my boyfriend, I deserve to be raped, I have somehow asked for it. I THOUGHT WE WERE PAST ALL OF THIS, IT IS 2009. Last time I checked you don't need a weapon either! THIS IS OUTRAGIOUS AND THIS DEFENSE TEAM IS AN EMBARRASMENT TO THEMSELVES!

The men cornered her behind the bar and began touching her. The artical said men, plural, both.
"He (Christensen) was staring into my eyes with a grin" she said
Openly sobbing. the women said Christensen looked at Sickels and said "no, we're going," but before they left he pointed a finger at her and said "nothing happened".
It does not take a lawyer, a rocket scientist or anyone with an ounce of brains to figure out what just happened here. Christensen knew very well the act was not consenual and that is why he said "no, we're going' followed by this did not happen.
That is also why he did not report anything, he knew that he was in trouble as well as his buddy, the tape of thier talking about the rape indicate deceit and cover-up.
As far as the defense if all the have is what she was wearing, can not remember who was setting with the accused and whether she fights with her boyfriend, they haven't got much. Her credibilty has become an issue, it will be interesting to hear about the defendents character, that could get real interesting.

Iowa law on rape, you do not have to do anything, you do not have to fight, kick or scream, just say no, no means no and if you have sex with someone who says no, it is rape.
This is the year 2009 and I thought we had come futher than what I am hearing from the lawyers in this case. If this is all they have, thier clients will be seeing the inside of a prison real soon, there they may learn alot about the definition of rape and what NO means.
The Survivor has courage, character and guts, more than I can say about the two cowards that assulted her.

JC wired himself????????? WHY??? No reason ..to cover his own ass. Which means he was carefully wording what he said. When a victim calls for help..why did he assume it was about him? Well because he clearly took part in it! That is why?
He never wrote a report or did any act to help this women and then he yells at her asks if that would be enough if he just talked to his BUDDY!!
OMG! ARE YOU JOKING!

Her clothes...mean nothing!A woman has the right to wear a thong into a bar and not get raped! She has the right to have a drink...no different then them...this is an outrage!

They have no defense!!
How do their lawyers sleep at night?

They know they are guilty..there just taking the money...you know the money they got from everyone else to pay for this trial!!
