I am happy about the verdict. It is a sick, sad world when - as a young female - I become a little nervous when I see a cop car. Not only are both men guilty of this crime, but they are guilty of abusing their "power" as policemen.

I have to agree with oh come on - the joke was in bad taste. If a friend or family member found themselves victims of a sex crime, you would probably be inclined to agree.

Christensen granted further review,(Creston paper October 12, 2010)
Do not look for the Surpreme Court to change any rulings. As this man hung himself in the trial.
I have no empathy nor sympathy for either one of them.
They are where they belong. A new trial will only be the same as the last, and we can all watch him lie, lie and lie. Remember this man has a hard time remembering what he saw what he did not see, yes it was, no it was not.
Top of the list for slim
And he is one ugly criminal.
I hope the court spares us all and keeps him where he belongs.

The convicted rapest using the law to get out of breaking the law he was hired to protect and serve.
I have to agree with "Spare Us All" I too have no empathy or sympathy for rapest cops.
This is Domestic Violence Month how ironic this hits the paper at this time.
He is where he belongs and where he will remain.
Just what Creston needs, front page, Cop that aided in a rape, to remind all women there is justice.

Just read the letter to the editoe Creston Paper Thursday Dec. 9.
I can understand the loyalty of family, but the family was not there that night. The DCI tapes speak volumes. And one might be careful when one states they know the facts about past behavior of a loved one.
Both have questionable past behavior that should have put them in the umemployement line.

I agree with unbelievable
They need to let it go.
The DCI tapes were enought to hang them.........
I too understand the family but come on.........
They are guilty as sin and they know it.........
And everyone else knows it too..........
As far as thier past behavior, if I were family I would walk softly on that one as others could start to come out of the woodwork
Do NOT think they were outstanding LAW OFFICERS.
In fact I know they WERE NOT..........
They are where they belong.

For those posting on the Creston News Advertiser...
Let me remind all of you that this was not cheating on your wife, IT WAS RAPE, IT WAS RAPE
You people need to get a life and move on. Have you all forgotten the DCI tapes, the lies, they were not good cops, they were not good family men
they were not good men.. they abused the power of the positions for which they held. They paraded around town like they were above the law, then they got got...someone had the courage to report them and they are where they belong. For that we as a community are far better off.

As a family..... they have a right to speak and you have the right to disagree, but for everything that is written that is nasty. They have the right to write something that supports!

Well I must say if everyone who had questionable judgement or EXTRA marrital affairs went to prison for 25 years.....80 percent would be in prison. The unemployment line....yes...prison is a whole different story!

Did you view the whole tape? or just the segment on tv? Just wondering as I never got to see the WHOLE tape. Our judgements should be on that. Not just the very few strategic clips played by the media.

These two men lied not once not twice but over and over again
they were convicted buy a jury far removed from where the assult took place.
It not a question of having extra marital affair or using poor judgement which they did, it was rape that puts thier actions into crimial behavior. As police officers the conduct is unexceptable on all levels.
I saw enough of the trial to come to the same conclusion the jury came too.
They are criminals and not smart ones at that.

I do woory about the kids all the kids including the victims and having this in the paper and on telivision only adds to the pain they endure every day. I do not blieve they are thinking about the kids when they put it out there for everyone to start talking about again.
Let the courts handle the appeals and leave this topic alone.
Niether one of those men were good men.

There was another cop, a younger one at the time who recently resigned from the Sioux City PD. No charges were made. But now he's a small town cop doing god knows what to the women who live there. He randomly harasses my friends on Facebook. If you venture north of the Dirty Sioux, and you are a woman, watch out.

Ok all has been said back and forth, both good and bad. But I want everyone to think about one thing. How can you say there was a rape when there was no evidence supporting it? The Golf Course is a stones throw from the emergency room. If I was raped, that's where I would go. Yes the DCI tapes, but if you watch them, words are being put into their mouths. With the technology today, with no DNA evidence I say this case was misjudged.

People who have not been raped may find it difficult to understand the torrent of fear, shock, and dis-orientation that freqently accompanies the act. The text book response is to seek medical attentionn at once whle dialing 9-1-1 to give a clear and precise description of the all the circumstances. Congratulations to the victims who can manage that. Other responses include isolation for up to weeks: homicidal rage; substance abuse, withdrawal from society, family, work; becomming promiscuous; and the list goes on. I pray that "no evidence" is never raped. But if so, drive straight to the ER before you re-assemble your clothing, cleans yourself of semen, blood, tears, excretia, tears, and snot, or do anything that reduces the quantity and quality of evidence. I think it would be presumptous to expect every vicitm to respond according to the "best pracitces" llist for rape victims.

These behaviors seem the same as to someone who has been possibly sexually abused as stated in trial? All the same signs were already there.

You, are without question "not" educated in violence against women.
