Ive lived in creston most of my life and trust me these roads are not the best. We spent all this money on fixing up taylor street and it didnt really need to be done that bad. The road in front of the old franklin school really needs to be redone before people end up with whip lash from driving on them

Just a bit of information Taylor Street or US Hwy 34 as it also know, was done by the state of Iowa Department of Transportation, not the City of Creston. Yes our tax dollars helped pay for it, but I believe most of money came from the state budget.
I do agree that many of the streets in Creston are in need of repair.

The roads may be BAD but there are more things to worry about then the roads. We have to worry about the graduation and all the kids that are in it

You are not supposed to drive your car into the potholes. It is all part of defensive driving. The roads are going to continue to be bad as long as we have cold weather. The temperature changes cause the ground beneath the pavement to heave and sink. The pavement then cracks as it follows the ground below it.

The weather will make the roads bad every year. We have far greater problems to worry about in this community.

The economic crisis this country is facing and the fact that when you get out of school you may not be able to even find a job, which equates to me shelling out more tax dollars!! There are much greater things than a pot hole in a road. But I'm pretty sure your young enough that the future for you hasn't even crossed your mind.

you dont even know how much the future for us students have crossed our minds. We are 3 months from graduating and alot of us are going to college and then leaving this hole to find jobs. But by the time that we get out college then we willhave a better future and will be able to find jobs
just a question

You want better roads, be prepared to pay for them, you can bet the taxes are going to go up if they bond as was in the Creston News Paper this week..Watch you taxes go up, the money has to come from somewhere and when ever in need that is the first thing your elected officials do !!!!!!
Raise Your Taxes, that is the answer to everything..........

so if taxes go up do you what people hurt I don't they need to fix them no matter what so ya how would you feel if you or some one you know got hurt because of the roads how would you feel if your car got mess up by the road like tiers, oil pan, other stuff on cars that not cheep you might have the money but there people out there that does not have the money to replace things
