Thank You for your time and effort. Ohio has needed to do this for a long time. I just hope people will bring their children and explain why it is so late in comming. I do hope to be there, I was there, back then.

I would just like to say Thank You for what you are doing. As a Nam combat vet myself it is much appreciated. Due to health problems and being unable to walk very well I doubt I will be there. You ALL will be in my heart and on my mind! Welcome Home Brothers! Sgt. Marty, D/2/1, 196th Light Infantry Brigade, RSVN 12/66'- 12/67'

Hello! Just wanted to inform those who have trouble walking should contact Bill. He will have floats for those who cannot walk or will have trouble walking the mile parade. Also, the parade line up is at 1:00. Hope to see a great turn out of participants along with spectators!

I love it! Nice job getting this together. It's long over due. My dad told me that he was spit on when he got off the plane from Nam. It's all I could think about when I got off the plane from Iraq to a parade of bands and a cheering crowd.

I am the parade organizer.
If you can not walk the parade route, there will be transportation to get you through the parade route.
If that is the only reason you may not make it. Please don't let that stop you.
Thank you for serving our country.
Thanks,
Bill Staton

Way to go-sorry for the wasted effort. My husband is a disabled vet and we are about ready to lose our apartment and head for a homeless shelter. The USA is not worth the fight!

You may be able to get some help from a few organizations around Ohio. Try the Vietnam Veterans of Ohio. Also try www.veteransfirst.us . Either one may be willing to help

I would personally like to thank Mr. Bill Staton for all of his time, effort and dedication in supporting the Vietnam Veterans and giving them the respect, recognition and dignity they so deserve. I hope that the upcoming parade in Shelby, Ohio on November 7th is not only a healing process for the vietnam vets but can serve as a learning process for those who were not in the war. Only in recent years have we begun to see the "FREEDOM IS NOT FREE" slogan everywhere. Over 58,000 young men and women lost their lives defending our country and our freedoms, the majority of which enlisted of their own free will.
And as far as Mr. Staton is concerned; I only met this gentleman a week or so ago. He is not a vet, vietnam or otherwise. This man is without a doubt one of the most sincere, devoted and passionate vietnam vet supporters that anyone will ever find. In our first meeting, tears were shed on both our parts. I knew then that I had come across someone special. Although he wants no recognition, I hope his name and this upcoming parade become ingrained in the minds of all who attend!

Thanks for taking the time to organize this event. Long over do. It's funny that it takes a Veteran to organize this event instead of our government doing it for us. I was in the Army and over there from January 1968 to December 1969. The real HEROS are our Brothers who did not return home.

I totally agree, except it is not Obamas fault. It is sad how we place law enforcement on a pedastool, yet fail to recognize how many ppl have fought and are still fighting on our behalf. I can only imagine how veterans feel to see ppl killing and hurting one another, littering, lacking respect and morals after all they have lost in the process of fighting for us. We degrade drug users, yet many vets need them to fight the painful memories and yes there are many that have lost everthing and are living on the streets. I always try to say that if each and every person in this world would do one thing to make a difference, it would make a tremendous impact.

Tim Shreve: I will drive to Columbus and pick you up. You have to be at the parade, please. If you're interested please post that you are and I will respond accordingly. Please consider it.
Although I am only 45 years old I have heard, and felt sick, about how the returning soldiers were treated when they returned from Vietnam.
I have had this date on my calendar since it was first reported on in the Norwalk Reflector and am truly excited to be able to show my support.
Thank you, Bill, for making a difference. Can't wait for Saturday.
And from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU, to all Vietnam Vets, you are not forgotten.
