Buyer Beware! What Food4Less Doesn't Tell You About Their Gas Discount!

Food4Less is really pushing their: "$0.10 OFF PER GALLON!!!" fuel program.
Buyer Beware!
The store receipt states: "LIMIT 25 GALLONS PER PURCHASE" This statement by itself means that every time you fill up, the limit is 25 gallons per purchase at the discounted price. NOT SO FAST! What Food4Less really means is that for every $100 dollars in accumulated purchases for the month you receive a 10 cent discount on a single gas purchase. What Food4Less isn't telling you is this: "The 10 cent discount is for a SINGLE gas purchase with a limit of 25 gallons per $100 in grocery purchases" If you have a compact car that only has a 10 gallon gas tank, then you lose out! Your total gas discount will be $1.00 (10 x $0.10) and only if the tank is empty!. Forget about the 25 gallon limit. There is no carry-over until you reach the 25 gallon limit. My complaint is that nowhere but nowhere is this policy of a SINGLE gas purchase stated for the consumer. A complaint has been filed with the store manager and now we wait and see how long it will take for the truth to be clearly stated. Until then: BUYER BEWARE!

I like Food4Less. They have very good sales and it is the only place where you can get reduced bread, etc. The manager and other employees are also very nice. I am not doing the gas rewards because I don't spend $100 on groceries in a month, but I don't think the gas rewards is a ripoff. The program is free and you aren't forced to do it. I am curious as to where you shop. Jewel is way expensive and Ultra is always out of their sale items.

I don't it should be a "Buyer Beware" We have the same thing here for Country Mart. You should ask questions, find out the whole deal before anyway. Don't just assume. Feel lucky you even get what you are getting. In this economy, I'm grateful for anything I can get a deal on.
