Good idea, unfortunately nothing the government legislates ever expires, it just becomes more costly to the taxpayer. Income tax is one of the earliest lies perpetrated by the government as temporary.

All the technology in the world will not make up for the human side of the equation.

As the Federal Government is in the business of driver training and testing, perhaps the DOT needs to review that process.

As it now stands, looking at the calendar on the wall, it is now 2009 and there are still no national minimal training requirements for truck drivers. Some states do have standards on the books.

It is my understanding that the federal government classifies truck drivers as unskilled labor.

The unfortunate accident cited appears to indicate that the driver involved may have lacked sufficient skills to pilot his rig. My condolences to the family.

Instead of banning trucks, how about banning bad or inadequate truck drivers?

Just a thought.

Ridiculous! Wake up and realize that the Dems and Libs as you call them are a mainstream segment of the population.
