I feel that the schools should have called for a two delay so as to allow morning traffic to pass through and keep our teen drivers out of the mess. A 5 minute car ride to school took 30 minutes. Thanks for the the tardy.

Welcome to the real world Nancy. When you get a job your boss is going to write you up for being late too.He is not going to shut down business for two hours just because you didn't take the time to figure out that sometimes it snows in Jan.

Jacob you heartless twit. I'm sure part of your comment is based on experience, not because you are the boss, but because you were written up for being a twit. Most companies have bad weather policies that allow good employees extra time to arrive at work. Nancy is correct, schools should have had a delay to ensure the safety of students. Some schools did have a delay. Good for them.

You would be wrong.I have never been late for work.I am responsible enough to figure out that in winter that there is a chance that weather may be a factor.I have also noticed those who are late because weather are usually those who find reasons twice a week to be late.I am the boss because I am responsible for my actions and don't complain about things I just get them done.Yes most have a policy towards weather and the school didn't deem an inch of snow worthy of a delay. That is the real point, you are responsible to find out that conditions will cause the delay. If you are a good employee being late once a year will be overlooked. If you are not and can't figure out that Indiana has bad weather in Jan.you won't last long at any job.The same at school a tardy once because of snow will not be a problem unless you already a problem student.

If the city would actually take tax money and salt the streets then we wouldnt have any of these problems. I cant believe that the roads were as bad as they were in the inner cities. I would hate to be a unexperienced teen driver having to drive in this mess too....

Where were the salt trucks? From Greenfield on I-70 all the way downtown and north on 65 for miles, not ONE salt truck! The radio said over 40 accidents on interstates alone! Someone screwed up! What is this white stuff anyway? You would think we were in Florida!

So it doesn't phase you that you pay taxes and the roads are untouched? As a taxpayer it is my expectation that I am able to reach my destinations in a SAFE manner regardless of snow, after all I do pay the salaries of those responsible to clean the roads. I left an hour early and was still late because the piss poor job that was done cleaning the SNOW off the roads. After all it is Indiana.

No you arent right, you are a friggin moron. Yes it takes extra time to get to work when the weather is bad its what happens when you live in Indiana, get over it. Stop whining that government is supposed to take care of you and that government is supposed to do what you want when you want. For some reason idiots lik you seem to think that the salt trucks and their drivers are supposed to be miracle workers that can hit every street before you wake up for work and they will be clear. They were probably too busy trying to keep the main routes open to hit any other street. The salt has reduced effectiveness as the temprature drops, and below a certian point it isnt effective at all. Why dont you go see what its like to drive the plow. Go outside with a hair dryer and try and clear your street while your neighbors hurl insults at you.

And no, i did between 30-40 and the GMC turns the headlighs on automaticly.

I love all these Know it all high school students that cry about not getting a 2-hour delay in the name of safety. It's funny how people are when they decide when to risk their safety on slick roads. When it comes to work or school, most don't want to risk it, but when it comes to fun activities, people have no problem risking it. I'm the opposite, I try not to go out unless I need to, but I always head to work.

Today there is a delay because the weather is deadly. Instead of judging everyone else with your set of values and "personal responsibility" why don't you take a real look at the environment and the erratic weather patterns. Yes, it's winter and it snows and gets cold. Most admit there is global warming and this is the result. Unless your job is to serve and protect others get real with your reasoning! You should find a good reason to change your behavior patterns to match climate change. I know it's easier to protect your concept of success in corporate America because you can make more money that way. You are a heartless GREEDY twit and someone should staple a "more precious than gold" post-it note to your forehead that says, "I created a Coal Sludge Pile with my unreasonable demands of personal responsibility."
Google sustainable and learn what real responsibility is.
