Ignorant racial comments from ignorant white people make me feel much better about myself. You are living a sad and pathetic life.

Black expo will be a lot of fun this weekend.

Black Expo is a great event. They have a week of really good stuff but unfortunately all that is overshadowed by the knuckleheads that come into town on the last weekend and cause trouble.

Can't you walk into any Walgreens (even the ones on East Washington) and get a free blood pressure check???

Besides, if you are on Madicaid, that means you are getting "FREE" medical care that I as a working American have to pay for.....

That don't have anything to do with killing someone. It's about health. Quit making it a racial issue.

Trust me, I do not hold a grudge against any race...Im white and my wife is black. I mention color(s) only because its the color of our skin. My grandfather was from Italy, but I'm not an Italian American. Im an American. My wife's family traces to Africa. She dosen't consider herself African American. She is an American. We both agree on the following...and lets be honest with each other, If the following events were to happen the black community would scream foul.

BET: Black Entertainment network on TV features shows directly catered to the black community. I don't have a problem with that. What would happen if the network even tried to have a WET, White Entertainment network?

Miss America: A woman of any race can compete.
Miss Black America: Can an Asian, Indian, Hispanic or white woman compete?
Miss White America: Could you imagine the NAACP's reaction?

Indiana Black Expo: Again, no problem..
Indiana White Expo: What do "YOU" think would happen?

While you're being so honest, don't forget that events like this came about because of historical exclusion of blacks from these and other activities that were essentially whites only. Black people didn't start this process.
Frankly, from some of the comments in forums like this, it's no wonder that there continue to be separate events, but that doesn't mean you're not invited. Who's going to make the first move? Even the Indiana State Fair has only in the last five years started adding some variety (other than country) to the music programs.
As far as your ethnicity, you may not care that you're Italian, but there are all types of ethnic festivals in this city and state over the next few months. God bless them all. No one really wants to forget who they are and where they come from because that's part of what makes this a great country.

Wow 7Jewels...that almost sounds like a Racial comment! Still, I believe that by launching a spear (no pun intended) against my wife vice addressing the subject of discussion...you missed the entire point of my comments. If needed, I'll re-write using smaller words...and yes, that was a pun.... Have a great American day. P.S. We both like collard greens...and fried chicken...

to the contrary...I didn't say I'm not proud of my heritage, you said that. Also, I have attended the expo...when I was with my I felt I was being "tolorated"...but when we browsed sperately the climate was a bit cooler. But that's ok... As far as history goes, I certianly don't disagree with you. Again, I refer back to my origional post...How would you feel about the items I mentioned...thats all that I was addressing...of the comments received it seems no one wants to address that.

those are the exact points i wanted to make. you have just made them more eloquently than i. i am certainly a man of few words. people jump to conclusions , what makes anyone believe i am not a man of color myself ? as far as being an idiot , i can vouch for that.

To anyone who has read this thread...and your vices my comments...its pretty clear who's racist. Is that the only comment you can make? Seems so. What do you base me being against my "own" color? If my wife isn't truly "black" because she dosen't think exactly like you...does that mean I'm not "white" because I dont have a closet full of hooded white robes? get a grip. While I won't attack your ethnicity...I will attack your attitude...and of course, your very free to answer with yet another ill though sophmoric banter about me being a this or that... It don't bother me. However; it does seem that in a battle of witt, your totally unarmed. As interesting as the subject is... I really don't think you have anything of substance to add.

It's sad that some people feel the need to be ignorant on every occasion! If you were a truly informed person, you would know that despite its name Black Expo draws its crowd a from a variety of ethnic backgrounds.
