Nice how everyone is so concerned about rebroadcasting the crap seeping through our cable TV these days, but no one seems all that concerned about those of us who put our trust in Comcast's ability to provide reliable telephone service, an invaluable and necessary tool for those of us who are disabled.
Once bitten, I will now be dropping Comcast's unreliable telephone service and resume my search for a steady replacement for Verizon's unconcerned service.

Comcast has been crap for yrs. i cancelled in the late 90s. It used to go out all of the time back then. One day the manager came by my house and knocked on thw door wanting me to reup. I laughed And he said yeah i get a lot if that reaction. I explained to him how it went out all of the time and that the best thing he could do was find another neighborhood

The issue is not specific to Comcast, land line phones are more reliable than cellular or internet based phones for technical reasons. If the power goes out in a home which uses cable internet then the modem goes down, and the phone can't work without the modem. If the power goes out at your home a hardwired landline phone will continue to work
