Is anyone ever in the office anymore? I was up there a couple times today and more than a handfull of times over the past few weeks and the friggin office has been closed.
The lady that works there sent me a letter and told me why I was rejected and its BS. I want to talk to her, she can't reject me for having no income thats what this place is for low income people. plus another reason. The office sign says 9 to 4, but it's been closed for the past couple weeks. i've asked people who live there and they always i just missed her. stay in the friggin office 9 to 4 people.
U sound like a loser

Instead of driving over there all the time, why don't you call the office and make sure someone is there. FYI, how do you expect to pay your rent if you have no money? I guess you plan on living off of the Government letting people, LIKE ME who work for a living to support you.

Do you REALLY not understand that LOW INCOME is NOT the same as "NO INCOME"? Where do you get the gall to state "she can't reject me for having no income"? It is plainly OBVIOUS that the rules are the rules, and you are not going to be allowed to bully your way in to a free apartment! You got your "letter", now you need to get at least SOME TYPE OF A JOB!

OMG, here we go again!. What is with some of you people who think that everyone owes you the world when you won't even try to help yourself. I just can't believe the audacity of some people. They don't need anymore deadbeats living here, it's been really quiet up here, thanks to them and the Monterey Police Department. I happen to know that Sharon and her husband are new Grand-parents and thats probably where she's been helping out her son and his wife. My my my what a pretty baby she is! Give her a break she doesn't have to answer to us. I love to stick around and see where this is going, but I have JOB to get to, maybe you should try it "disgusted".

Our government has created these entitled monsters. For some reason they think that every one should keep them up. If the government would take away their food stamps and insursnce and housing away they would be forced to support themselves or live under a bridge. If they have kids they can't support, then take them to someone that can.
Full of it

You are either lost or full of crap. I live here and Sharon was here all last week, a bunch of us went into the office to see her Grandbaby. Noone was there yesterday. But for you to sit there and say she's never in the office is crap. If she turns people down she must have a good reason, so get over it and look for a job.

What ever y'all. I thought places like this were suposed to help people like me. So every one there has to pay thier own electric and water and gas in some of them. I was in there today, she wasn't mean she just said she couldn't help me with no income. then she told me how much it was to pay all the deposits to have them turned on. no way. I don't get it. does every one there pay their own utilitys? she said they did, that can't be. There's no way I can afford all that. so how does someone like me get help.

Can I ask you? How old are you? You seem to think that the world should revolve around you and you think whatever you want should be handed to you. It doesn't matter where you move to, you have to pay deposits to have the utilities turned on, that's not anyone's fault. You don't seem like you have any interest to find a job, you just want everyone to pay your way. Quite frankly, I'm tired of it. Find a job, there's always a job for someone willing to put a little effort into it.

People like you? That really strikes a nerve with me, you say people like you are supposed to get help. Well PEOPLE LIKE ME ARE TIRED OF WORKING AND PAYING TAXES THAT GO TO PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT WONT WORK. Stop talking, your making yourself look worse! Get a job and learn to live like the rest of us!

To answer your question, I'm 20 years old. I still live at home with my mom and dad. I love them very much and usually get along well. Recently they told me if I was gonna live at home then I had to get a job and pay rent, which my dad says he will use to pay my car insurance. I have to pay rent to live in the home I grew up in? If I have to do that I might as well move out and pay my own rent. Or, they said they would pay for my schooling if I wanted to go to college like they did with my older brothers and they got to stay home until they got done at Tn Tech. Right now, I'm not interested in going to school. My mom and dad don't need my money and I'm not going to pay rent to them. I'm not a bad person, I don't drink or do drugs, I'm simply trying to find how young people make it in the world which is almost impossible to do. Thats why the lady at wonderwood made me mad because she refused to help me.

Your parents are just trying to teach you responsibility so you will someday be able to make it on your own when they are no longer around. Don't expect any handouts, they wont always be there. I would take them up on their offer to pay your insurance with the rent money you pay them. Get a job and save as much as you can as long as you can. Today it seems young people spend all their money on video games and other crap that they think they have to have. You will have to do without most of these things for a pretty good while. But, once you get started on the right track it will be much easier and pay dividends. Hang in there and take it slow. Don't move out just because you feel you shouldn't have to pay rent. It is expensive in the real world. Much more than you know.

I agree, your parents sound like good folks trying to teach you a little bit of responsibility. I hate to sound like a father figure, but there will come a day when you regret not taking your parents offer for a higher education. You young folks need to realize you're not going to get any where in this world without an education. But you go ahead, find a job and move out, while you still think you know everything. One day you'll soon realize how good you had it at home when you have to pay for everything yourself. I'm not trying to be rude, just trying to open your eyes a little bit. But good luck to you whatever you choose to do.

It sounds like you are saying that your parents are now paying your car insurance.....AND they are offering to pay for your higher education? What is wrong with you child? You sure need a dose of reality. You expect lodging as well, and STILL HAVE NO JOB? That's almost funny.

I was turned down to. I don't have any income right now, jobs are really hard to find and you think they would have some compasion for people but they dont. she did tell me i could come back when i had income. i told her my friend lives in a hud place and she said they aren't hud. I can't remember what she said it was. she told me to that i have to pay my utilites and i needed to prove that i make enough money to do that every month. when i asked her what that was she wouldn't tell me because then people all of a sudden people come up with that much money after i told her i dont have income. so dont feel bad. go to cookeville.

What some people don't realize is that just because you get something for free or nearly free doesn't mean that someone isn't paying for it. each time someone gets public assistance of any sort, taxpayers are paying for it. So those of us who do work have to pay out our hard earned money. Some people who are not able to work because of a legitimate disability do require assistance. Those who do not may need it for a short while. Many of those who need it for a short while get addicted to the system and live off it for a long time and shouldn't.

Wonderwood is a JOKE...Harold and Sharon are a JOKE... It's ridiculous what they get away it. And, who do they have on their side? The COPS. But that's just my opinion.
Very Nice

Your opinion sucks. I've lived here for a long time and I've always got along with both of them. They are very nice as long as you live by the rules. The only ones who are putting them down are ones they've evicted or people they won't rent to. It's a nice place to live. Me and my kids like living here, I don't usually get into the gossip, I'm too busy working, but some of you are just plain clueless and mean.
BTW Sharon & Jimmy, congratulations on your Grand-Daughter, Lord have mercy, she's the prettiest thing this side of Heaven. I'm happy for you and I know you are a very proud Grandma and Grandpa.

I don't know where you people get so much insite, thinking you know everything. I am not going to pay rent to live at home. She gave me the number and name who to call at rurel development and they told me they had no control who they rent to. I sent my friend in there just to see if she was telling everybody the same story or if she was just being nasty. My friend has a job but she told the lady she didn't have income and she told her the same thing she told me. come back when you have income. that's the problem with you people who work for the goverment ya'll have jobs.
absolutely

And that's the problem with ADULTS like you..... YOU DON'T HAVE A JOB!! The world doesn't revolve around you. I think that's great that Wonderwood requires you to work. I wish you had to have income living in the projects also. That's the worst thing about Government help, they make it worth not having a job. Why would you get a job if the government feeds you with a silver spoon? It gets worse and worse as time goes by. Generation to generation these kids know nothing about life. They feel like we owe them something.
One more thing, your an adult now. Of course you should pay rent at your parents! You need to stop looking for the easy way out. I guess you figured if your parents wouldnt pay for you a place to stay, that the government would jump at the chance to support you. Your parents need to show a little tough love. Sleep under a bridge of get a job and grow up.
