A Rhode Island school board voted on Thursday to comply with a federal court order to remove a prayer banner that has been displayed in a public high school for nearly a half century, saying the cash-strapped district cannot face a costly appeal.

The board voted 5-2 against filing an appeal, a move that means the school must now remove the banner within 10 days under the court order.

atheists take people of faith to court as a means of persecution; nothing else. The American government, through its court system, is used by atheists to persecute people of faith.
This coming from someone who continuously cries strawman? Oh boy.

What is less dignified than a Goliath with a persecution complex whining about being outmaneuvered in the courts by a David? I reject the claim that courtroom persecution of religion is a real phenomenon, but that is irrelevant. We could stipulate to it, and agree that the secularists are beating the hell out of the religious in the courts, and then add, "So what? Why shouldn't they if they can?"

Poor atheist didn't feel included because of a prayer hanging on the wall. Do you think she feels anymore included? Maybe people just don't understand Christianity. The school district should bring in some Christians to teach the kids about Christianity so that they can learn to be tolerant of those different from themselves.
HOw tolerant do you think Chrisitans would have been if the banner said, Oh Mighty Allah, please grant......"

I bet after 9/11 that the school would have been sued by Christians. Anyone who says Chrisitans wouldn't object to that version of the banner is being dishonest.
