Warm up your taste buds Wausau, you're in for a treat! I can't begin to count all the people who have told me they yearned for a local Thai restaurant, and now that wish has been granted with the opening of Basil in Weston.

BASIL ROCKS!!!!! From the ecclectic upscale atmosphere complete with perfect music, to the fabulous service, excellent drinks and completely delicious food! I felt like I was dining in Chicago! Amore! Worth every moment and penny...you'd be wise to make a reservation!

I found the food to be quite bland. Service was not acceptable and food wasn't at all authentic.

The atmosphere is very classy and welcoming. The service was really excellent and the food was amazing. I usually like to use salt and pepper on most food and didn't see any on the table. Wasn't a problem because the three different dishes I've had there were excellent and didn't need anything else. The owner makes it a point to stop by each table to make sure everything is good. Each time we've been there, he's stopped with a smile and thanks us for coming. So I guess if someone didn't like their entree or thought the service was not acceptable, there's always an opportunity right on the spot to get it corrected...unless you don't say anything. I would highly recommend it!

I loved the atmosphere, and we wondered why we were the only people in the restaurant. When we tasted our food we knew why. Not impressed.

Yes, atmosphere is gorgeous, however, food did not do the atmosphere justice. If you are new to Thai/Vietnamese food and have never had the real, good dishes, then yes, you would say that its good, however, if you know your thai/vietnamese food then this restaurant did not do it justice. I believe that if you are going to make a restaurant and want to show others what your cultural food is all about, you MUST do it justice. How do you expect others to know your comfort/soul food, if you can't even make it right??? Especially for the price that you pay for some of these food, it is NOT worth it. The pho was something that even my five year old wouldn't eat. Spring rolls? 1-0-1 Yuck! Who makes spring rolls with just vegis and eggs? and all for 6 bucks?? That's not even how we do them. Want to really try thai/vietnamese food? Try Pho 76 on Rosecran for the pho. For the other dishes, try SyAm or Sawadee. Better food with better prices. Trust me, I grew up with these food.

You can't correct something if it wasn't done right the first time.
