Come on people. Everyday I see trailer park people literally thowing fast food bags etc., cigarette butts that practically hit my vehicle out their beat up truck/car windows right in front of my eyes. Littering is an EO crime.

I loved the quote at the end where they said we wanted this to be a dry town.

The people have spoken and the "we" that wanted a dry town was the minority.

Oh well, at least they can complain about it openly at church and anonymosly on this internet site.

Ain't nobody going to listen to them tho

Somehow it was just plain wrong for booze sales to even get to the point of being voted on in McAdenville. Needless to say, I look for a flood tide of "dirty little secrets" to spill out as a result of this. Say...who was that drug dealers daddy anyway? Somebody call the FEDS.

You people really need to stop trying to make God in your image.

The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say: Behold a man that is a glutton and a wine drinker, a friend of publicans and sinners.

Some of you are hopelessly stuck in the mill town past, which is something that even the mill has absolutely no interest in maintaining.

You do realize that Pharr owns a TON of prime real estate in town that they have been sitting on for years, just waiting for this vote to finally happen, right? You do realize that they no longer wish to be the only source of revenue for this dying town, and are quite prepared to cut the cord with Christmastown, right? You do realize that they were the primary drivers behind this vote happening in the first place ... right?

This town will finally have the ability to live up to the promise that drew all those newcomers to it in the first place. In the very near future, it will be joining Belmont and Cramerton as prime bedroom communities for Charlotte professionals, with the quaint restaurants in a walkable downtown that they love so much.

Oh the horror! With the drastic increase in the tax base that is sure to come, perhaps the town may someday be able to afford a police and volunteer fire department again! Even worse, they might have the absolute gall to finish the park downtown or fix some sidewalks. And ... God forbid ... if THOSE people move in, they might send their kids to the crumbling Gaston school system and quite possibly increase the percentage of students who graduate and go on to seek college educations to above the abysmal sub-50% level it is at now.

It's okay to feel nostalgic for the past, but not at the expense of a very bright future.

Do you people seriously think that the folks in McAdenville don't drink. They cross over Hwy 74 to Cramerton and get it.....being able to actually purchase it in the "town" will not make much difference.
As far as the bars.....well...if they are there no one forces people to go in there and drink...
Come on......these folks are adults and make their own decisions.....
