Lets put all the whining and complaints about the city cops on this forum and not the mayors forum

I wish you could know what it is like to search a burning bedroom
for trapped children at 3 AM, flames rolling above your head, your
palms and knees burning as you crawl, the floor sagging under your
weight as the kitchen below you burns.

I wish you could comprehend a husband's horror at 6 in the morning as
I check his wife of 40 years for a pulse and find none. I start CPR
anyway, hoping to bring her back, knowing intuitively it is too late.
But wanting her husband and family to know everything possible was
done to try to save her life.

I wish you knew the unique smell of burning insulation, the taste of
soot-filled mucus, the feeling of intense heat through your turnout
gear, the sound of flames crackling, the eeriness of being able to see
absolutely nothing in dense smoke-sensations that I've become too
familiar with.

I wish you could read my mind as I respond to a building fire 'Is
this a false alarm or a working fire? How is the building constructed?
What hazards await me? Is anyone trapped?' Or to call,'What is wrong with the patient? Is it minor or life-threatening? Is the caller really in
distress or is he waiting for us with a 2x4 or a gun?'

Unless you have lived with this kind of life, you will never truly
understand or appreciate who I am, we are, or what our job really
means to us...I wish you could though.

KEEP SENDING THIS ON. APPRECIATE AND SUPPORT THE LOCAL EMS WORKERS,
911 DISPATCHERS, FIREFIGHTERS, and LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS IN YOUR AREA.

I am an EMT and a firefighter and I do understand where you are coming from.
I know what it is like to go into a burning building and what it like to hear kids screaming cause they are hurt or can not get out of a building. I have also seen what the drunkards do to our innocent families.
As far as Police, Firefighters, EMS, and even our 911 dispatcher, we/they do not get enough credit for what we/they do.
Until those people can step in our shoes and be brave souls like us, noone should complian about the things we do, including LAW ENFORCEMENT

A thank you from the public for us/ them putting our/ their lives on the line would be greatly appreciated.

I lived in Richwood almost all of my life before moving to Cleveland a few years ago. I have worked with people whose husbands are police officers in Cleveland and I know how much money they make and what great benefits they have and what respect they receive. So I can appreciate the job that a small town police force must have. Yes, there's not as much crime as in a big city but all it takes is one time to meet the wrong person or be in the wrong place to change everything. And I agree that is ridiculous to slander people especially when you only have one side of the story or you don't check the facts. Everyone should take your advice and talk to the police chief if there are concerns and try to be supportive of the job you do. I, for one, appreciate the police officers and hope that the best interests of the citizens of Richwood are being looked out for. Don't be part of the problem people, be part of the solution.

I am proud to be from such a wonderful small town and I am proud of any caring police officers that watch out for our community. I heard a few days ago that her surgeries for her broken leg and ribs were successful, they were going to do plastic surgery on her face for her broken jaw and shattered eye socket. She was on a ventilator but weening her off. I can't remember if her pelvic or hip was also broken. It sounded promising for her.

Tell the 62 year old man how great the cops are since they physically pulled him out of his truck in front of the post office for talking to someone they thought he shouldn't have been.

Or tell the woman he pulled over leaving the poolroom after talking to her husband to take her groceries home when the cops got smart assed with her, just because she was seen parked in front of the poolroom doesn't mean she was drinking, which she wasn't.

I don't believe in driving drunk but the harassment and entrapment has got to stop. These cops are forcing 3 businesses to be on the brink of closing and the city needs their B&O taxes! If this mess isn't stopped before the Ramp Feed, people will stop coming for it and Homecoming!

Old lady Hammonds got hit by a car while walking across rt 55 to get to her house last week.
