Lost job wanted some serious opinions on what I should do? We can make it on one income if we do away with Luxery living and Stop buying items that is not needed but don't know what to do. I don't want to feel ashamed but I've also been tryin to get work been not doing good with that because I've got a few health issues goin on as well and don't want to be embarrassrd but I know I can't get out any other way and I know I can start over but I will lose my car and just need to know or be assured hearing positive words that I can overcome this and come back
Out on top.

If you say you can make it if you cut back on luxury living and un-needed things, then maybe it would be best to try that for awhile. Sometimes we think that we need more than we really do. It would not feel good, but you could live with it and find other ways of luxury and entertainment for your family. You might find that you enjoy life more living with simple things. Good luck to you and your family. Just budget and try hard and you will get through this.

I went bankrupt and I live really simple now. If you decide to do bankruptcy then you also need to change your lifestyle so you don't get in a bind. It was really hard at first not to have things like I'm used to but now I am so much happier. I don't want all the material things I used to want. Hope this helps.

Well, experience tells me that if you can cut back and make it then that is the way to go. Bankruptcy is the very last resort. When you are 3 months behind on every thing and they are going to repo everything and you see no way out. Then & may be then that is the time for bankruptcy but no way file for it unless you have no other choice.

I say this because I have been there. Once you file. You have no credit for the next 10 yrs. Do not believe what other people tell you. If you do get a loan the finance charges are so high you can't afford them and a credit card after bankruptcy is 26% finance charges. So do what you can to stay out of it.

You will get to keep your house if you are buying one but if you are renting or you need to get a rental they do a back ground check. Bankruptcy comes up on your credit & you won't get a place. They won't even talk to you. I have been trying for a while now with no success.

I had to file because of my X. His lawyer made me file with him. I got screwed royally. I didn't owe for nothing but now my credit is screwed for the next 10 yrs just because of him. Now I'm a simgle parent with 2 kids and can't have a single thing or help them out at all because of it.

So please don't do it unless you have no other choice. Been down that road 2 Xs with the X. It's hell. You might get to start over but not for yrs. It takes a long time to get back to where you are right now.

Believe me there are alot of things you can learn to live without. You lived without them before and you can do it again. Ride it out you will find a job. GOD BLESS. I know you can do it. I am! My kids & I are learning to get to know each other and really enjoy our time together.

When I filed for chapter 11 (Bankruptcy)It was no time with in 3 months I was getting credit offers out the rear, They jump all over you because they know you can not file for another 7 to 10 years,So getting Credit again was zero problem , it was like starting a fresh new clean slate for me!

At what percent? The credit you were getting I can bet you was out of site. Yes they will hound you but watch the the charges is all I'm saying.30% financing on a credit card is not my ideal of good credit. You can't pay the bill for the financing.

The first offer that I took was from Discover and it was ZERO % interest for 1 year and 3.9 % after that.
