Richwood's Mayor

I can't find anyone that voted for Bush and can't find anyone that voted for the Mayor, but they are both in office.

This mayor has totaly ignored his duty to see that wishes and instructions from city council are preformed in a timley manner.
You must remember he is not a Richwooder or even a West Virginian, but is really a liberal form New York. He takes credit for the hard work of others and is more than willing to pass off his screw-ups to others.

Why is everyone so quick to point out that Mayor Baber is not a native Richwooder. In the earliest days of Richwood's history, some of the most prominent citizens came from other states. The town's founder, the Cherry River Boom and Lumber Company was comprised of men from Pennsylvania. J W Oakford hired the best men and they came from places like Marysville, Tennessee. I would imagine if we were to go back and study the town's history, we would even find quite a few New Yorkers.

Who cares where he is from as long as he takes care of your town. Looks like he has did just as good as any mayor befor him and myself personally think he has did some more than others. You do not see all the rift raft hanging on the sts of Richwood and the drug dealing going on out in the open like it was a couple of years ago.

The Mayors family played a role in the early history of Richwood. I have seen pictures of prominent Richwooders attending picnics at the Baber farm. That family was well respected in the area.
We should show the same respect to Mayor Baber.

I cannot believe that anyone is able to trash someone on complete hearsay and get by with it . I do not know the mayor but it seems like he could probably bring suit against someone.Of course they didn't sign their name so how much creedance can you give to a story like that.I feel sorry for him and his family. Someone must have a big grievence against him to put all that hate in one letter.

That person must have a world of hurt in them to put such hateful things about someone online with out any evidence to back it up . Shame on you. I am sure he would have a valid lawsuite against you if you would care to sign your name. This is disgusting.

My motive is not coming from "a world of hurt" its because it gets old to see people like him prosper when good men and women are put on the back burner because of lack of connections. The man is a fake, his whole life is 1 big lie/scam after another and he is our mayor. If you don't believe it find out for your self. Robert Henry Baber. Look him up, education, marital status, previous jobs,....all of it, 1 big scam. But you are right, he loves to file "lawsuites" he has only had 3 jobs and was fired from all of them and tried to bring a "lawsuite" against all three which all got shot down. Oh and by the way, a nasty "lawsuite" would also bring out the nasty truth, I don't think he wants that. So now that my motive is clear, what is your motive, why are you kissing this scam's ass? Mayor Baber is more motivated than most of the people from Richwood who could run for Mayor and just don't care enough about the future of the town to do so.
We should applaud a man who did not grow up there, but still cares about Richwood and is trying his best to make improvements.
Who cares how many jobs he has had, and as it has been stated..........has lost. Sounds to me, sad to say, like a lot of the male population of Richwood.

There are new sidewalks on Main Street, the depot is being renovated, new flowers and trees are being planted around town, a qualified man is now serving as Police Chief, and there is communication between the Mayor's office and those with the power to make South Fork Dam a reality.
Anonymous..........have you done anything for Richwood? There are several projects that need help. The Library needs a new roof and is currently trying to raise money. The pool needs repaired. Richwood Hospital is trying to raise money for new equipment as well.

The police and Mr. Baber do get along, well enough to let him go when they find him driving home drunk on 2 occasions. Speaking of projects, how about the windows that were knocked out with rocks and the police cars being shot with bb guns and paint ball guns and the stop signs being shot, all from Mr. Babers children and friends from Mr. Babers own roof. You can't "fully" blame the kids, that happens when you leave town for days at a time and don't do your job as Mayor or a Parent. The guy is a joke! a fake! Mr. Baber, stop running around pretending to being a writer/poet, I can copy and paste off the net just as good as you, and stay out of the strip clubs and stay home and attempt be a Father and a Mayor!

my web service is through columbus, and I am sorry I don't want to use my name Mr. or Miss "Friend" but it would cause to much trouble. By the way , have you heard the latest on our beloved mayor? now he has charges on him for child abuse and endangerment for hitting his son with his fist in the face and allowing his kids to get access to his pot. he got caught instructing his kids to lie to children services to say him and his son accidently fell down some stairs together and he asked his son to take the rap for having the pot. there is an ongoing investigation going on right now. now this is a mayor with credibility. WHAT A JOKE THIS MAN IS!
