New Direction for Sophia Town Trolley

Months ago residents in the town of Sophia were trying to drive the trolley out of town, but plans have changed.

I dont understand how the sophia taxpayers are going to enjoy raymond and phylis rose and the bunch from coal heritage taking the towns money buying a trolley and then hauling people everywhere but in sophia? How in the world does this help sophia? Another one of those Rose dreams that sophia is gatlinburg...hahaha ..but now they have Mayor Taylor spending tax payer money on there pipe dreams...sheesh people wake up! Tell the rose's and Taylor enough is enough!!

Idiot! Why don't you try attending a town council meeting and find out the real facts about the trolley and the tours the trolley will be taking. If you had the town's interest at heart you would check out the facts before inserting you foot in your big mouth.

I think the mayor of Sophia is onto something. Think about having several trollies in southern WV running tourists to area of interest. Course you would have to charge riders something to ride but if you publicized the routes and all the towns could agree on where the trollies would take people, why not give it a try?

Now I hear the town just gave the beckley folks 10,000 dollars of our sophia money to run the trolley! Is this Harry Taylors last legacy of being a baby cause he lost the election?

Does anyone know the truth about the trolley. It is such a factastic idea and kudos to those who thought of it. I can visualize this idea expanding into an even larger venture. Congratulations to the ones who brought it here. When does it run? What is the schedule and the route? What is the cost? More publicity may be needed.

The idea is great! The ones that are running the show have never completed any project that they have ever started. That is what is scary. Now the new river park exibition coal mine and coal heritage authoriy is going to run it. then at the end of the day give sophia some of the money. But meanwhile it just sits on the side of the road with 100's of thousands of miles already on it going downhill each day. I am all for it to run, but not just sit there. The biggest problem is they have put the wrong folks in charge. The ones who complete half of every project, then stand up and pound there chest about there accomplishments.I do hope they get it off the ground. One question why send all of the ticket, souvenier and other projects to beckley? Isnt it sophia's trolley?

All the newly elected people of Sophia will do what with it? In my opinion, they need a park or playground for the kids of Sophia.(Like the Thornhill Courts below Park Middle) I went to a few meetings and all they worried about was "the insurance" to pay for anything like a park/playground. How much is the insurance on the trolley?
