I was wondering why you Covington people wouldn't want to be part of the county you are already part of? I've been on a lot of Little League committes(4 kids) and such all over the county and it don't seem like to me it would make much difference to you. On LL we all work together without much problems and if it lowers taxes for all of us what does it matter to you. Dont you want to save some money?

Its nice to hear that people are working together on LL. It is great that people are looking after the kids regarless of jurisdictional boundaries. But unlike LL, it comes down to a severe loss of representaion in Covington, and the ability of a new government to, in the future, impose additional taxation on us that we will have no say in. Taxes will not be lowered. Both localities have debt that must be paid off and then if we are to construct a new high school, that will be added as well. If you want to talk about a merger of schools I'm open to discussion. There is just too much difference between what people expect from local government in Covington vs. rural outlying areas to have one government.
