I am sorry I ever had to apply this year. Christmas Mother ate pizza while checking me out. I was hungry for it, my son worse. They told him pizza only for workers! Wonder if the people who donate money for us poor people are paying for their food. When Martha Nicholson was Christmas Mother I had to apply but not since. I will never again. Rather go hungry.

I agree they shouldnt have been eating in front of everyone. Should have took it to the back room or something. I dont think the community is going to complain about feeding the Christmas Mother and her workers. They volenteer there time for people like you and me to have a xmas when we might not have been able to if it wasnt for them. So let them eat some pizza. Keep up the good work Santa and your workers.

Anne Wright or Denise Pillow would have not told a child they couldn't have pizza. It is a matter of upbrining and knowing what is proper and what is not. I was taught if you don't have enough for everyone you don't eat in front of anyone! I say let them pay for their own food! They volunteer because they can afford to.

They should have shared pizza with the people who was there signing up instead being a bunch of selfish gluttons. I thought Christmas was a time for sharing. If pizza was bought for them by people donating then everybody who came in should have gotten a piece also.
This was very despicable & inexcusable for them to do this especially in front of people who probably could not afford to eat like they do. I bet if you went hungry then you would not be selfishly saying "So let them eat pizza."

If the community got whiff of the volunteers not offering any pizza to people signing up for the program they would sure be very upset especially the ones who had donated to this program!

Shame that people donating their time to help poor people out, should have to eat.. Are you serious!!!!Some people with their hand out forget about the rest of the people who put their best foot forward because they are thinking of someone other then themselves.

Well if you want to come on over to my house and check out my cabnits and fridge they are bare. So dont say stuff like that. What if they had bought it themselfs and they might have? I do go hungry. I eat one meal a day so that my child can eat so dont go there please. I know what its like.

If they didn't intend to share the pizza they should not have had it in view and after the fact it should have been picked up quietly and taken to the back room

I think you need to look at the person who is the Christmas Mother and judge from that.I've never heard any compliants before enve when that wone from Westvaco's wife was teh Christmas Mother I didn't hear anything but thise year is a different story. She is young and I belive her mother is running her show so you take it from there.

Yep, I have to agree, she is from the "me" generation.

It was a shame that nothing was being offered to people who have to go hungry by people who are supposedly helping poor people out. If they were thinking about other people than themselves then they would have offered instead of rudely eating in front of people.

This just goes to show how times have changed. I know in the past pizza would have been shared with other people but nowadays I guess it is a different story.

You are right. I was surprised at them asking for us to give our ss numbers to strangers not really social workers, etc. but people off the street had access to our income and to our ss number. It was embarassign for me. This Christmas mother had so many new rules you can be starvign and get turned down.

It seems to be all about publicity & having their pictures in the newspapers instead of helping people!

The reasons the merchants give is that it is free publicity. Some of them wouldn't donate unless their picture was taken. They would call up the shop and say if the christmas mother comes here or there I'll donate this or that. The Christmas Mother didn't have a choice of where to go she was scheduled but she had a choice of who she gave to and what she gave like what kind of food in the bags to give away and if she gave to teenagers. The year I helped she worked from dawn to dusk and the only way to get all those donations is those picutres. But I agree there seem to be alot of changes this year.

this one looks like she is too young and also needs some clothes herself. Shirttail haning out, wrinkled jeans, don't look like a Christmas Mother to me. Far cry from Dianne Garcia and Cindy George wouldn't you say? Oh well, times have changed and they turned away so many probalby won't be a Christmas Mother very much longer. The new generation changes standards and cant' wait to do things their way. It was a nice tradition but gues swe jsut gotta get over it!

The people eating that pizza most likely paid for it themselves. No one as humble and generous as the Christmas mother would take out of your fund. It is a generous job that takes a lot of tome and effort. If your son asked !me she bluntly said no.. then I agree that it was rude. But then again there must have been a reason. Like maybe she felt obligated to give some to everyone then. But she is a volunteer who isn't getting paid to go out and collect things for people like you. She is not a millionaire and couldn't have given pizza to everyone. I think that you are being bias and should take a step back and look. We all work for the things and money that we have.

1. Don't let your kid ask. That's rude
2. While you are typing this you should probably be looking for a job.
3. If you are typing this on a computer, you can most likely afford pizza.
Now go apply for Christmas mother or be like the other thousand families in Covington who are starving who won't get to even apply and need it.
Merry Christmas.

Ok you made the comment about them having to take your SS# for identification purposes. If you are in dire need of assistance no one would want to "steal" your identification anyways! And it's like that old adage "beggers can't be choosers"!It's peopple like some of "you" that make it so hard for those who really do need help from the community.I can't believe im actually reading about someone who needed help and has the audacity to complain about some pizza that the volunteers were eating while helping you out.IT's Your acting like a pig. The more you give the more you want! You have access to a computer hmmm and then have the gaul to complain about some pizza. GET IT TOGETHER!!!
