Fed Judge: Obama Misled, halts Obama's oil-drilling ban
June 22, 2010
By Stephen Dinan
A federal judge in New Orleans halted President Obama's deepwater drilling moratorium on Tuesday, saying the government never justified the ban and appeared to mislead the public in the wake of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
Judge Martin L.C. Feldman issued an injunction, saying that the moratorium will hurt drilling-rig operators and suppliers and that the government has not proved an outright ban is needed, rather than a more limited moratorium.
He also said the Interior Department also misstated the opinion of the experts it consulted. Those experts from the National Academy of Engineering have said they don't support the blanket ban.
"Much to the government's discomfort and this Court's uneasiness, the summary also states that 'the recommendations contained in this report have been peer-reviewed by seven experts identified by the National Academy of Engineering.' As the plaintiffs, and the experts themselves, pointedly observe, this statement was misleading," Judge Feldman said in his 22-page ruling.

All beef baloney. This joker of a judge, a Reagan appointee, has personal investments in oil, and should have recused himself.
I certainly don't like seeing jobs lost. But the overall well-being of the American people is at stake. We still don't know what caused the present oil spill, and we are being asked to continue the same kind of drilling. This is not a question of politics. This is pure and simple madness.
A six-month moratorium is certainly not too much to ask. Personally, I would support a moratorium until we know what the hell we're doing.

Check out what affiliations this judge has to the oyyle industry. Fascinating.

This ban is a temporary ban to figure out what went wrong.

It is irresponsible, dangerous, short sighted and reckless not to have answers before continuing.

Really? So you are implying that the judge is not impartial? Then he should have recused himself, you ridiculous buffoon.
Now, if we can return to where the adults were discussing things:
Speaking of recusal, there is a financial disclosure form filed by Judge Feldman in May 2009 that shows he owned stock in several energy-related firms — including Transocean, which owned the Deepwater Horizon rig.
I wonder how the relatives of the 11 oil rig workers feel about this judge who struck down a gavel that trumped their mourning, the safety of others. Resuming deepwater drilling before new safety measures are established is not just completely assinine and shortsighted, it's a slap in the face to those families.
Which brings me back to the dim bulb I'm replying to. So are ya gonna go BAM and pop one of them widows in the gums, Teabagger? Tuff guy. Bam. Go put on a pathetic white robe and hood and hang out with a gaggle of pathetic buffoons who are just as brutally clueless as you are, then your comments will be considered funny. Maybe some inbred yokel will get a Hyuck Hyuck out of them while you're sitting in a big circle together, as jerks do. Here the comments you make are being viewed as clueless, banal, boring, and dimwitted. Not funny, just pathetically stupid.

Where are the jobs, we really need them now, Obama fired those oil rigg workers when he placed the moratorium. I am glad the court overturned it. Of course Obama is appealing so those who work on the riggs and support the workers on the riggs will not have a job. Thanks a lot Obama.
Did it ever occur to you that maybe there's a 6-month moratorium so that the accident can be examined before rigs start drilling again?

Thanks to your for your comment which is a slap in the face to the families of the people who died on that oil rig.

Examine what? It's all BP's fault, remember? Hasn't this already been investigated? What were those hearings about last week?

"White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Barack Obama believes that until investigations can determine why the spill happened..."

If they don't know yet how the spill happened, then why has BP been excoriated all over the world as the Big Bad Guys?

Can't have it both ways. Either they know what happened and BP is at fault, or the investigations continue because they haven't determined the cause.

I notice this article didn't mention the...uh,'misleading' information from the Interior Department concerning the National Academy of Engineering supposed recommendations that the drilling should be stopped, you know, the recommendations that the experts in question say they never made?

If, as some scientist predict, the Gulf floor around this blowout opens up and creates a gigantic methane gas bubble, sinking all ships over it for miles around and then creating a 100 foot tsunami wiping out the entire coast line and Florida,
Will he blame it on Bush too?

The is so much the public isn't being told about this spill it is scary, but I guess it's in the public interest.

A tsunami that big and that close to land would only give a couple of minutes to try to evac millions of people.

That judge needs a trip on Airforce One to help him change his outlook. HA HA HA.

Obama NOT Understanding what happened after over 2 months???? Yep! Obama's been busy on the Golf Course, DNC Fundraisers, Date Nights, Vacations, WH Rock Concerts, Lavish Mexican Parties, Lavish Correspondents Dinners, Basketball Interviews, etc.

Why would peoples live be set in ruin because Oh-bama can't focus and solve any problems?

Why he doesn't know what happened or at least have a very good idea and a plan by now is beyond comprehension. Only an idiot like him would be this clueless 2 months into the worst spill in US History.

ROFL! What a Moron! Anyone with a job with retirement has Oil Company stock you idiot!

His decision was based on the law. Sorry!

Maggot Oh-sh*tbama needs to get off the Golf Course and get a clue. He's had 2 months to meet with BP and yet just met last week. W-T-F!!!

Any decent exec would have had daily or weekly meeting with BP from the Start and gotten with their engineering group to determine cause and corrective action.

Obama is simply too stupid and inexperienced to know what to do. IMPEACH THE MAGGOT!

Obama's Gulf War Three

June 19, 2010

Thank goodness, the president has directed BP to order up some new tackle and connect it to the thinga-majiggy next to the whachamacallit.

I believe it was Jean Giraudoux who first said,“Only the mediocre are always at their best.”

Barack Obama was supposed to be the best, the very best, and yet he is always, reliably, consistently mediocre. His speech on oil was no better or worse than his speech on race. Yet the Obammyboppers who once squealed with delight are weary of last year’s boy band.

At the end of the big Oval Office address, Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, and the rest of the MSNBC gang jeered the president.

For a bewildered Obama, it must have felt like his Ceausescu balcony moment. Had they caught up with him in the White House parking lot, they’d have put him up against the wall and clubbed him to a pulp with Matthews’s no longer tingling leg.

http://article.nationalreview.com/436712/gulf...

For the first time I felt a wee bit sorry for the poor fellow. What had he done to so enrage his full supporting chorus?

In the Washington Post, the reaction of longtime Obammysoxer Eugene Robinson was headlined “Obama Disappoints From The Beginning Of His Speech.”

So what? He always “disappoints.”

What would have been startling would have been if he hadn’t “disappointed
