Full story: TwinCities.com

A risky procedure to stop the oil spewing into the Gulf of Mexico has yet to show much success, and BP is considering scrapping it in favor of a different method to contain the worst oil spill in U.S. history, an executive said today.

this is an outrage! and a travesty! We need to stop all offshore drilling operations. Stop using an antiquated energy source, like oil, and switch to a more responsible, sustainable energy source. BP needs to go bankrupt because of this incident. also be responsible for ALL clean up costs!

Don't blame the engineers, blame the corporate big shots who make the decisions to cut safety corners in order to save money. This is not the first "accident" that BP has had.

Other than that, I agree that BP needs to pay ... for ALL of it.

BP doesn't own the station. You hurt nobody except the small business owner and employees.

How about dropping a giant bottle of Dawn dishwashing liquid down there to break up the oil as it comes out? Don't laugh...I bet that'll be next. Look at the ideas so far.

protecting LA and gulf shore doesn't stop birds from diving into the oil slicks. fish, crabs, dolphins, etc. need the gulf water. there is so little press about the suffering animals.

the top kill has failed per news sat. evening. the new cap is supposed to allow them to pump oil into ships via a pipe. hurricane season is coming soon. ships cannot stay there during hurricane season.

Well we all want cheap gas and don't want to do anything to change our lifestyle, so I guess we are all a little bit to blame.

Start executing BP Executives one for every day the leak goes on, and I bet within two days they would figure a way to plug the hole.

I speak for everyone when I say stop the hate! We, as a society, will not begin the healing process until we forgive BP. BP has suffered enough and further bashing and trashing has no place in civilized society.
