Investigation still ongoing in alleged West Covina teacher chok...

Nearly two weeks after the incident, West Covina police have yet to hand over to the district attorney a case in which a Regional Occupational Program teacher allegedly put the cord of an electric sander around the neck of a student, officials said Wednesday.

let him do it to you then laugh about it after . so the way you say it Mexicans have to put up with more , why because the teacher is a redneck . klan days are over around here , since they burnt down their lodge on peck in El Monte back in the late 70's . if it would have been a white boy it would be all over t.v. and the teacher would be locked up . i have done time it was no thing , but if that would have been my kid it would be worth a few years to take care of the teacher myself

ABCD, Sounds to me like you have the temper, not the teacher, not the student. We should wait and weigh in after all the information is publicized! The newspaper wants to make it an attention grabber. After all, they're here to sell papers. Let's calm down till we hear all the details.

If the teacher was joking then he should have let the student know, because the student was scared to death when he thought his air supply was going to be cut off. If it was a joke like this teacher is trying to make sound why didnt he ever say I'm sorry. Instead he ignored the student for the rest of class. And at the begining of class he also pushed the student>. He just didn't like this student and now he is caught he is saying oops it was a joke!!!! no I dont think so. He came from a continuation school that he probably got away with that kind of behavior there but is not going to fly at WCHS

the details are that law enforcement is dragging their feet , on this one . its called wait and see . this give the public time to for get a little . then move on . eventually the teacher will get a slap on the hand , and the student will be made to look like the guilty one . oh and yes IF, the rolls were reversed racially , the teacher would have been charged by now . and now before you say that mexicans are always complaining about discrimination , well its only in response to the amount of strife thrown at us . think about it you read and see it every day in this paper , the amount of bigot that put shame out in their blogs .

The teacher is the adult and should know his/her limit. This type of joke is unacceptable behavior for a teacher. Since when are these type of situations considered jokes. I know teachers have to put up with a lot with those kids that are "goof offs" but send them to the principal's office, don't take matters into your own hands, see where you are now.

The kid was likely just acting like a jackass and the teacher jokingly did this. If reported immediately, this may have merit but it was'nt for 3 days. Get over it!Drop it already. The reason no one has filed charges in 2 weeks is because there is no viable case.

Lets just say for the sake of argument the kid was goofing off in class, does that make it ok to put the cord around his neck and pull it tight. NO I dont think so. Any way you look at it or try to twist it around the teacher was wrong
