People speed up and down that stretch of Grand Avenue all the time...until they get busted by the motorcycle cop that hides on Lorencita.
I know. It happened to me.
Fortunately, I only got a ticket. This kid learned the hard way.

Fast and the Furious type racer in a hurry. These kids soupe up their cars for street racing and hopefully this guy was not in a racing situation this morning and was just late for work and was using his racing mentallity to get there in a hurry, it backfires. Sad for the family that ones hobby of racing and love of cars comes to end at a early age. Not a racist remark but the asians have these street racing clubs and their cars are illegally built to really go fast. Does not surprise me that he took out a pole. My Neighbors are street racers and these guys love their cars, constantly working on them constantly polishing them. It is a rush to go fast for people that race and most think they are invinsible. So sorry hopefully his friend will learn a lesson from this and tone down the fast and the furious driving they seem to think is cool and fun. It is not worth it to die for it.

I received my one and only speeding ticket on that same stretch a few years back. I was annoyed at the time but I guess I was pretty lucky. Iíve been more careful ever since.

I actually know this guy through mutual friends. He was a good kid that provided for his family who have fell upon tough times recently. He was not an asian speedster like you infer. Please try to be respectful.

Accidents happen all the time right there! They need to put a light, I mean come on they put a stop sign on corner of Virginia and Mesa? I see people speeding everyday down this street. The car was a Lexus sports car, but we can't assume anything. God be with his family and friends though.

I can't wait to hear why this person "lost control" of his car.
What makes them think he was in-control in the first place?

Seriously, I hate people like you who make assumptions. My car has 300hp. Do I street race? No. I'm Asian. Am I in a "street racing club"? No. People tend to forget that you can race anything that moves - so please, keep your ignorant comments to yourself. MORON.

I was one of the first people to see him after I heard the 10+ second skid and explosion of the transformer by my house. His lexus was crunched so bad he was in the back seat not consious. He took out a pole two trees and a wall, must have been doing 80+ down that hill, not a good idea. My condonlences to his friends and family.
