Christopher Smith was the young stabbed to death early Saturday morning. He is survived by his mother, grandmother, stepfather, and 2 younger siblings. He was a graduate of West Covina High School. Christopher's large group of mourning friends are working a fundraiser to help the family with expenses. RIP Chris, you are greatly missed!

The report said the victim was identified as Christian Smith of La Puente not Christopher. I heard the assailant was Mark Parker. Is this true?

I know Mark Parker personally. He is not a murderer. He would never do something like this. He had a few arguments while he was at a party, and the the victim had some friends try to jump Mark. I like how the news didn't mention that, so now everyone thinks my friend is a murderer. This guy "Chris", in all respect didn't deserve to die, but he should have thought before making his actions. And it was Marks fault for killing him, but I can tell you his suffering won't be because he is in jail, but living with killing a young man.

Take those words "he should have thought before making his actions" and say it to your friend, anonymous23 not to the person who is dead because of him.

He is a murderer, if he did this. Sounds like he had one to many arguments, dosen't it. In stead of getting his ass kicked, he chose to take someones life. Now, many lifes are changed. Maybe now he wishes a little ass kicking would have been a better thing for him, hell if they beat the crap out of him, he would be better off now.
Don't these people think anymore???????

how can any of you come online and judge this situation without the full story being published. have respect for both the young man who died, and the young man who made this mistake. your just some people sitting at a computer casting judgement on something you have only heard rumors or read very little about. so just calm down and wait for the full story. cause for all you know maybe the guy chris had 3 or 4 or 5 friends with him trying to attack the other young man and that triggered this, or maybe that didnt happen at all and it went down completely different. point is you dont know cause you werent there. so be respectful and wait for the full story.

You people really shouldn't judge mark. Hell have his consequences. Out of respect to the family this shouldn't be a trashy gossip issue. It happened and it effected a lot of people. Especially he ones who seen everyhing and have to live with it the rest of their lives. Two men died that night. One physically and the other mentally and emotionally. I could be nosey and trashy and talk shit about it but it wouldn't help and it prolly none of my damn business...

I know. Mark is a good kid. It was really just... a heat of the moment for him. He acted too quickly. None of you should cast judgement on him for that. Just because he took a life doesn't mean for the rest of his life he needs to be known as a murdering scum. I forgive him, and I know for a fact he wants to forgive himself. So as I said before, his suffering won't be in a prison cell, but living with killing him. If any of you knew Mark, you would understand.

I knew Mark well. He was misguided by many evil people in his life, he was taught to think that this kind of act was the apex of masculinity by those influencing him. I also knew him to be a man capable of weighing right and wrong. This heinous act he has committed was through no others fault than his own, his parents raised him well and he knew what was moral, he just chose to go against what he knew was right and instead chose the path that has now delivered him to a life sentence.

I would like to say that we should not cast judgement on him, but he has killed a man. And in doing so he has also killed two mothers dreams, his own mothers and Mrs. Smith's. Chris will never be able to have children, or go to college, or marry, or just relax and enjoy the weather with some friends... it is only right that Mark should never again have these privileges either.

All of this sadness and pain for a shallow act of masculinity is hard to wrap your mind around, but no amount of sugar coating attempted by Marks defenders can change the fact that he has taken the life of a vibrant young man that had a bright future.

P.S. No news agency has reported that Chris had any plan to attack Mark, and even if he was planning to do so, i highly doubt any high school fistfight they could have thrown at him deserved the response of murder.

Why are you defending a murderer? The murderer is only sorry he was caught, i'm sure it would be something he would have bragged about if he hadn't been arrested.
