Yep Paul that was me. Taylor not a bully? Every day two or three times a day he got a bunch of kids together and they jumped me and punched and kicked me. When on his own he was ok, but when with others he turned, like he was showing he was boss. And Paul you joined in more than once and was part of his team. Do you remember the damage he did to Martin Flynn. Even when he was on the floor battered, Taylor kept kicking him in the face. Yes Taylor was a bully. He was the reason I left at the end of the second year,

Does anyone remember me at CCBS. I was in Dudley house between 1957 to 1962 can't seem to get hardly any replies from people whose names I recognise, I have tried friends reunited but keep getting inundated with junk mail ever since, F.B. No replies from people who were there at the same time as me, getting worried now have I left it to late?. Also my location under my name keeps changing yet I am in the place when on the internet [even the same chair]

GIVE ME SOME DYNAMITE!!
One of my closest friends was sexually abused at this school by two teachers. One went to prison for what he did.For those it didn't happen to they escaped something that scarred my friend for the rest of his life.
School is not supposed to be about terrorising children and turning them into bullies to cope with it.
I think your quote is very honest.

Sorry to hear about your friend Lucie, but please don't paint the whole school and its pupils with the same brush I was there 1957 to 1962 I was assaulted my a rogue member of staff [not sexually] which to this day I don't think was fair, but I got up dusted myself off and got on with it, it would have been a different story if it had been sexually. but other than a small minority of people the school was good on the whole.

I am glad that for some children it was a good experience at Cleobury and I guess it will relate in some part to time scale as to when they were there. I am sure there were some good teachers there at this point in time too, but I am also aware other boys suffered at the hands of these teachers and I only hope they managed to get support if they needed it to deal with the effects and were able to go on to lead happy lives subsequently.
My friend did have some good memories too of his time there but these were overshadowed by what happened to him.

Yeah Lucie your right and it's a shame these bad things happened, I often wonder if this is 1 of the reasons the school eventually closed, who would want to send there kids there with these things going on, but a lot of kids did do well there, and a few probably had some bad times there, I hope your friend as sorted himself out now and take care.

Hi David I think I have a photo of you somewhere, I also came across a slide with me and Harry Hutton and me and David Allen.I saw David last year at my fathers funeral, its the first time I had seen him since school, apart from being a bit thinner on top he hadn't changed a lot and was still mad about football. If you would like a copy of the photo of you I will dig it out
, let me know your email and I will send it over.

For those of you who were at the school in April 1969, I have just managed to get hold of the footage taken by ATV Today showing over a period of about 10 minutes various aspects of school life. Those I immediately recognise are Gordon Plaice in the metalwork shop, Alan Thorne refereeing a rugby match, a boy called Sinclair taking a shower (top half only) and, I think Rick Jones playing chess.
If any of you want a copy of this DVD I can let you know how to source it. It cost me £72 to have it transferred from the original 16mm film to DVD, so since this part of the process is complete, one would assume that anyone else could get a copy for considerably less.
Part of the agreement for providing a copy is a no copying clause, so unfortunately I can't provide copies without being in breach.
Hi Edward I had to pretend to be a patient in sickbay as there was no one in there at the time, but I think it ended up on the the cutting room floor. I would be interested in getting a copy.
