If he can't abide the law why should he be allowed to be the law ??? Yes first offense is a misdemeanor !!! Was that his first time or just the first time he got caught by an officer he couldn't influence ??? God forbid what if he had not got caught had a wreck and seriously injured or killed one of your loved ones !!!! Would you still think it was no big deal ??? We all have problems and being a police officer does not excuse that !!! Just my opinion !! |

apparently it was NOT excused, as the news reports. He was disciplined on the job and still has to go through the judicial process like anyone. think about it when you think you should be let off your next ticket, MR/MRS abides by all traffic laws all the time. |

how many them high paid deputies do it all the time and even in they police cars and dont nothing happen. least this one is owning up to what he did. and from what i hear is still fair with everbody he deal with. id rather a cop that is human than a cop that think he better than the common man to judge me if i have a bad night

Charlie, who is it and where is the evidence of any beatdown ever? Natchitoches is a public office, please provide some proof of this slanderish claim. And meeting up with the 'wrong person' is that a threat if he were to encounter you acting illegally? He didn't get away with it, what are you suggesting you would do? I'm sure that YOU would be innocent until proven guilty, he shouldn't be afforded the same Rights? |

Really don't wish anyone harm or injustice.. EVERYTIME I've seen the guy he's been just nice as can be ... I just think being a peace officer shouldn't come with special privileges..I'm a mechanic doesn't mean it's free to fix my vehicles !! I wish him luck everybody needs luck !! And with you being his biggest supporter I wish you luck .

Police officers are supposed to be above things like this, it doesn't matter what is going on in his life and I can't believe people would say that makes it all alright.
I'm not condemning the man but he being an officer and having seen (I'm sure) what happens from drinking and driving through working wrecks and such who could he think it is ok for him to do it. He made an oath to protect and serve the citizens, how is he protecting when he is drinking and driving. He made an oath to uphold the law, he broke it and could have broken it much worse through vehicular manslaughter, thank God he didn't! |

Mr Lindsey is going through the sane judicial process as a normal citizen. He is receiving no special treatment. His actions are wrong and he is being dealt with accordingly. But we are not all perfect, we make mistakes. He made one that he should have known better. But yet again we aren't perfect and we do make mistakes. If we live in a society that isn't willing to give someone a second chance then we are in bad shape. Give the man a chance, he is going through the judicial process as you or I would. But do not out cast this man becuase he made a mistake that happens to many. He was wrong and is now facing consequences, don't cast a stone at him for being human. His actions aren't right and I doubt by having a badge he feels he is above the law. He is only human. I hope he has learned from this and will make him a better person bc he actually is a good officer. He SHOULD learn from this and remember the worse effects of what COULD have happened.
God bless .....saving my stones for another day |

yes cops are human i believe everyones issue with this is that cops protect and serve and enforce the laws. if a cop cant even follow the laws? there is a moral and character issue. he known what he did was wrong im glad he was caught and has to go through it like everyone else that would. i hope he has eaten the whole humble pie not just a slice and has learned from it. should he lose his job ? No but i do hope and pray that those in charge followed the appropriate procedures and handle it accordingly not sweep under the rug because he is one of them.( if that happened i dont know i wasnt there its just my hope)

You may not lose your job. But he has to drive a cop car to do his job. Whenever you get a DWI the police dept. usually take your drivers license. So if he is driving, he is doing so illegally. which is against the law.

actually on the back of your DWI ticket your licence is suspended after 30 days of the ticket date its up to a judge on when you get them back and if you need a ingnition interlock system installed. my ex tried to tell me diffrent when he got one so i went to the sherrifs office to get the truth.

I beg to differ wen i got mine it was also a first offense and mine never got suspended... so that doesnt always apply.. n besides even if his did get suspended (which it did) they give u a temp licenses till u go to court. N yes he does have a temp license so he is able to drive. N wen u go to court u can also get a license for while urs is suspended so u can LEGALLY drive to n from work. N since driving is part of his job is to drive im sure he will be permitted to do that as well..
