I keep hearing folks say that Adam Jones is going to bring change to RRP as Sheriff. It's not surprising though, preying on voters emotions is all he's got to run on since he has a scant work history.

I've heard the same political rhetoric before...

The last politician who ran on a hope & change platform was a huge disappointment. Only in Coushatta could the voters be fooled twice by the same bureaucratic jargon.

First off, whoever wins there is goning to be change in the parish. i think edwards side has also spoke of change.

A scant work history - 4+ years in the sheriff's office and undercover drug team would probably equal to at least 12 of the years that edwards spent behind a desk at Troop G headquarters.

So he did undercover work. What was his sucess ratio in solving crimes? Did he have any major bust or did he just do undercover work and never really get anything accomplished? What is his arrest record and how many cases did he work? I ask this because just because you are undercover doesn't mean he accomplished anything. And how can you say that is equal to 12 years behind a desk? Last i checked the Sherriff's job was a behind the desk job!

Yes Edwards spoke of change, but he didn't run mainly on that aspect. He also has an extensive work history to talk about, along with personal character traits proven through the years.

How is grunt work more impressive than operations management?
There is a sequence to working your way up. Edwards put in his due as law & order fodder before moving on to more responsible roles behind a desk. He proved himself in middle management. The next step is upper management, Sheriff.

I send Congratulations to both men for a classy race. When it is this close and I was the winner, I would keep in mind half the voters did not want me there. That is a load I would not want to carry around with me.

Edwards will do well IMHO.

Please drag the RRPSO out of the dark ages and into the 21st century.

You really want to talk about Adam buying votes... you obviously don't know him or didn't listen to anything he said at all. You should quit judging someone you didn't even give a chance to know and maybe point that finger at the other side because i assure you money was thrown out in a huge way and I, unlike you, will not say names because i have couth(it means I am civilized). I would also like to say congratulations to Mr. Edwards. I know he put some hard work into this campaign and I am sure Adam has already congratulated him because that's the kind of person he is.

Congratulations to glen. He ran an awesome campaign as did Adam. I supported glen throughout his campaign. I was at glens victory party last night and I was shocked. We are celebrating and the next thing I see is Adam jones walking into glens party. Adam walked up to glen and personally congratulated him on his victory. That is true character in my book. For a young man to walk into the victor's party and congratulate him, speaks volumes about this young man. I am truly impressed with the way Adam conducted himself. My hats off to him. However I do feel it is a slap in the face to Adam for people to insinuate he would do such a thing to Johnny ray. If you have ever talked to Adam about Johnny ray, he has nothing but praise for him. It is unfortunate that people would slander Adam by playing on the emotions of the Normans. For that I am appalled.

Again congratulations to glen. And Adam should keep his head held high, he has nothing to be ashamed of and his a bright future in whatever he chooses to do

Losing an election and congratulating your opponent is indeed an excellent character building exercise.

I'd prolly vote for the young man in another decade, after he gains more experience and develops a career.

You chuckleheads can try all you want to make this sound like a clean campaign by Jones' people, but the facts say otherwise. I hope it gets investigated and maybe, just maybe, we won't have to go through such unpleasantness next time. This particular election was the best chance Jones had and I think at least the money men know it, next time it's not going to be so close. Four years is a long time to plot and scheme though, but the folks who did the right thing this time around will be waiting. And watching. See ya'll around.

That was class act of him to congratulate Glen the loser usually does.. Glen would have done the same thing if the shoe was on the other foot. Kinda like in sports you shake hands with the other team. That builds character in people. Maybe some of his supporters should learn from him. But it is fact of what they were going to do to Johnny Ray Ask his daughter or call them yourself everyone has heard of it by now. that goes to show you how sorry they truly are. Adam has nothing to be ashamed of its the other people that ruined it for him.

Adam was stand up to congraulate Glen for his victory. I have been reading all day on facebook, the jones camp had to go against the "big money" from the edwards camp. Really , please , money from Simpson, Murray, Brown, Nash, Coleman, Jones, Walters, Shaws, Mitchell, Rivertown, combined, truely was more spent on Jones election run, than was from Edwards . So many rumors were said to the public, from the Jones camp, trying to prey on the emotions of the people of Martin and Hall Summit over the school deal years ago, and rumors to the colored people , about what Edwards will do when he gets in office, but , all in all, at the end of the day, money did not but the Sheriff dept. the big group of people , already control the police jury, school board, clerks office, tax assessor office, but now, they will not control Red River Sheriff Dept. good luck Glen Edwards.

I supported Adam Jones from the get-go. The people have spoken and Glen Edwards has been elected. He is a fine young man and I am confident that he will do a good job as sheriff. That being said, the Edwards's camp needs to drop the big money issue. It's not making sense. Edgar Cason was a silent backer of Edwards and he has more than all those talked about x 10, at least. The only thing worse than a sore loser is a sore winner. Move on and use your efforts to unite and make our parish better.

some of us are intelligent enough to go to the Secretary of States web page and read the financial reports, we don't have to listen to the whispers

congratulation Glen, I know you'll be a fine sheriff, and when you retire I'll vote for Adam
