I believe that is total horse shit. It creates money in a town stricken by foreclosures. I believe it is illegal to steal money this way. If you dont stop long enough before u turn on red you get a ticket.

Or if u inch a little further either way you get a ticket. Usually cops use discretion instead of a damn camera. I respect the government more if they raped my woman and waterboarded me then took my 80 dollars, that would be more honest.

Red light runners are criminals who kill innocent americans. Make them pay and hit them with license suspension too.

Let's stop coddling these killers. They are a thousand times bigger threat to each of us than terrorists.

i stoped for the light on 175 and crawford in country clubs hills on july 1 2011 at 10:30 am to make a right turn to go east , and almost got hit by a van going very fast and went through the red light , i dident see the camera flash . other times the camera is flashing and no one is moveing , i did get a ticket a while ago on 183 and crawford , i stoped about 10 feet from the line then went and made my turn, what is safer , to stop and get hit , when the camers were installed it was supposed to get the cars that run red lights , not people who make legal right turns.

THIS ARTICLE IS CRAP!!! I have lived in this area for nearly 25 years and I do stay informed. There was never a reason to install these cameras at every turn (167th Pulaski/Cicero, 175th Pulaski/Cicero, 183rd Pulaski/Cicero. These cameras were erected to extort money. When you travel to Orland, Tinley, Homewood, Oak Forest, etc., you do not see these many red-light cameras.
This mayor discovered one more method to keep cramming his own pockets with taxpayers' cash! Same play when they set up speed traps along 183rd. Spent millions widening the street, only to drop the speed from 40 to 30, then wait in the Lutheran church parking lot for someone driving 35 mph...give me a break! At least tell the truth!
