Good, you got your glasses on. Stick to the main subject of this forum . 1-18 covers this. Pay attention.
I have not seen the follow up from Friends about what Gene thinks about his Board showing him up and about the article saying the Ridge is Anti-Business. There was a lot of tough talk in the forum about getting off subject but nothing of substance.

Dear Ridge Rules, I asked "Friends" if he would ask the Mayor what he thought about all of this "publicity" because he said an earlier "I spoke to Mayor Siegel on a weekly basis , from the very start of the election and have know him more than 30 years". Friends has not come back. Maybe the weekly meetings have ended. I don't have a little snit with the Mayor. What is the plan for the Landis Property now? People in the community want to know. I say let's change the zoning and build some HOUSES. Single family houses.

<quoted text>One of my concerns is that Grove and Saunoris have businesses next to each other on 111th street and while is is great for the businesses because they can share parking, how can we ever expect them not to vote together?. It seems logical for them to work together to make money for their businesses but it creates the appearance of conflict of interest.
BTW, Saunoris is a real gem. He sits as the chair of the police committee and has made sure his son-in-law has been promoted all the way to Deputy Chief and made sure the Village paid all the legal bills and has never excused himself from voting on a police matter.
The conspiracy theory of the village is that Grove and Davies own Siegel because they have taken over his campaign committee. With their new power they have the Ordinance Officer punishing and multifamily or residential property owners in such a way that about 50% of properties in Chicago are "non-conforming". This forces about 50% of Chicago Ridge property owners to need to grovel to the village, including elected officials.
The village board led by Mayor Siegel greases the skids for friends and uses the power of the village to punish their enemies.
Gene is moving on but he is leaving a lot of the wreckage behind. If a positive guy like him has had enough, maybe we all should say we have had enough too.

Great idea! A subdivision next to the tracks. It should be called Trackside on The Ridge. I think it's gonna succeed in a big way!

Did you ever stop and smell the roses Fast Eddie? You don't even have to bend over or call your brother by his other name, Ben Dover.
The Gene Team gets more signs and VOTES by accident than you and Sassy Sally are going to get on purpose. Tisk!

Hey Palos Heights IP address...Run home to Grampa, and that means all the way to Florida. Maybe you didn't know this but there is no Gene Team. You idiots fired your coach. He gone. You are the Chuck Team now and he is not that electric. He is lucky that he doesn't have an opponent... and pick on Moody all you want but he is running in Worth Township (again nothing to do with Gene)... and well Sally, she isn't running against Gene either,(he is moving to Florida remember?)... She is running against the three dwarfs from the Village Board, Sleepy, Dopey and Grumpy. Put out 5,000 of your ugly two faced signs "by accident" VAPers and Sally still has a shot. Girl Power this election. Just having fun without hanging in the bar.

I love this quote. "The Gene Team Gets More Signs and VOTES by accident than you and Sassy Sally are going to get on Purpose."

Seems so not the same as what really happened. That was no accident on Election Day. Kind of like a 200 car pile-up.

Chuck Team. Gene Team. Jimmy S-Barker-Grove Team. Team Sally. Team Badon. Bruce's Team. Jack and Mike. The Reformers. We are still an anti-business town. Can you and your "Teams" get that changed? George's committee will not solve a thing.

Chicago Ridge has become an over-governed village whose officials are opposed to developing local business and creating jobs, according to one longtime business owner who brought his argument before the Village Board Monday.
Dick Landis, owner of the Landis Plastics property at 10800 Central Ave., accused trustees of forcing a trucking company operating on his property to cease operations because of the consistent complaints of “a few rogue residents.” Speaking on behalf of his family, Landis criticized the village’s business climate and said the industrial property should be allowed to operate without restrictions.
“Chicago Ridge is becoming known as the anti-business village, to us [at least],” Landis said.“We’re trying to create jobs and Chicago Ridge seems to be chasing them away. Village trustees Monday voted 3-2 against a motion that would have granted Sherwood Food Distributors a new business license to continue operating at the Landis Plastics building, which no longer produces plastic products. Trustees Daniel Badon, Bruce Quintos and Mike Davies voted to deny the license, while Trustees Juanita Babcock and James Saunoris voted in favor of it. Trustee Brad Grove was absent.
The Landis family owns six plants including one in Alsip and has never had a problem receiving a business license, Landis said Tuesday during a speech in which he highlighted the company’s history including the jobs and tax revenue it has provided for Chicago Ridge.
“These [other] municipalities are interested in developing businesses, tax revenue and jobs,” Landis said.
Calling Sandei’s petition “flawed and misleading,” Landis told trustees that allowing residents to set industrial restrictions is wrong.
“We are zoned M-1 industrial and should be allowed to conduct business,” he said, adding the vacant property would mean losing more than $50,000 in rent.
“Dennis did exactly what he said he was going to do and I don’t understand how a few residents can overshadow what we’re trying to do. It’s just not fair.”
Following Landis’ comments, Saunoris told his fellow board members that they should grant Sherwood a new license.
“If I was in this position, I would get a lawyer up here,” Saunoris said, who owns Saunoris Garden Center in Chicago Ridge.“I think it’s wrong and as a board we should go along with this gentleman.”
Babcock agreed.“I feel we should give them the license and let them carry on,” she said.
“At one point, we could hit children and we could segregate our schools,” Davies said to illustrate his point.“Things change.”
Chicago Ridge Mayor Eugene Siegel closed more than an hour of debate by catering to both sides.
“I respect zoning,” Siegel said.“He has all the right in the world to run a business zoned M-1. Chicago Ridge has come a long way because we favor our business community and appreciate all they’ve done.
“If people think Gene Siegel is not for the residents ... we are for the residents,” he continued.
Seemingly oblivious to everyone involved in the debate was the fact that Sherwood had secured a new location prior to the meeting. The trucking company will move back into its former location in Blue Island, likely around Nov. 13, Organ told The Reporter in a phone interview Monday morning.
“I couldn’t get the mayor to understand, it is not hard to move,” Organ said.“Commercial real estate is not hard to come by.”
Taxes for trucking companies are far too high in Chicago Ridge, Organ stressed.
“Why would a business come here?” he asked
That's right. Why don't businesses come here. And Mike when did you stop hitting your kids?
