In their book Rules to Break and Laws to Follow, Don Peppers and Martha Rogers, Ph.D. write that "customers have memories. They will remember you, whether you remember them or not." Further, "customer trust can be destroyed at once by a major service problem, or it can be undermined one day at a time, with a thousand small demonstrations of incompetence." ~ This statement is so true. What really grinds my gears about this area is the way they treat good people at food establishments. I have found a few places where the employees want to be there and put on a smile when they serve you, but not all places. I can say Sunrise Cafe was nice. The lady greeted us and we felt welcomed into their establishment. But at Molly Mondays, the service was horrid. The buffet ladies were fine (smiled and said hello) but the regular waitress, ugh. We had to get our own silverware, asked twice for napkins, and then she tossed the plate of food onto the table. How was your experience at an establishment in Savannah? Please tell us where to avoid and where to go.

We had pretty good service at Mollie Monday's but I have heard plenty of people say the same thing ya'll did about snotty waitresses. I think their breakfast is over-priced and over-rated. I would choose Toll House for breakfast, hands down. There are a few waitresses at the TH that I try to avoid, but Pam, Sherry and heavy set girl with long blond hair are great. You never have to ask for a drink refill there, that's for sure.

My wife and I ate there one time. It was shitty at best. I ordered a steak medium and the wife ordered one well done. Mine came pretty well and the wife's was burnt to a crisp. We just ate the baked potato and what little bit of stuff they had called a "salad". We must have had the same waitress too, not friendly at all. So no tip and we'll never be back there either.

We have eaten a Mollies several times,,mostly lunch,,ordered breakfast once but never had bad service or a bad meal. Doris's is the only horrible experience we have had in Savannah area.Doris's has one or two decent waitresses, the rest are terrible. And never ever order a steak there unless you want to sit in front of your toilet seat when u get home for two hours calling RALPH.I called the County on them,,they definitely do not keep their meats at a safe temp. You would think that waitresses would be busting their butts in this economy to keep their job and get more tips

We haven't had bad service at Doris's, and have never been sick. My mother-in-law thought she got food poison from the eggs on the salad bar and my daughter has been sick after eating grilled chicken. As for the waitresses, there is only one or two there that I don't like, and they are family. The rest work their tails off and do the best they can. I don't like to complain about anything to do with the meal because the waitresses catch heck for it. One of my favorite waitresses quit Doris's and went to the Saw Meal in Adamsville a while back. I miss her, but we don't go that much anymore anyway.

Every time I've been to Worleybird's, the service has been good, waitresses (every one we've had) have been friendly and food is always good. Fried Bologna is awesome! I'm satisfied with the service there, so if I go for a restaurant meal in Savannah, I recommend to everyone to try Worleybird's.

Worleybird is overrated and overpriced. The food is okay, in my opinion, but you don't really get what you pay for, again, in my opinion.

If you want good service try Sunrise Cafe! The owner is also the waitress and though it is a tiny little building, it is always enjoyable for us! We only have eaten there for lunch, though. Breakfast, twice. Slug burgers aren't that great but can't complain about anything else.

Also, wanted to add re: Mollie's, we too have had bad experience there. The waitress was horrible and bragged how she was Mollie's granddaughter to us. After that we never saw her except to walk past us as if we had left. No silverware, no tea refills = NO TIP. Then we went back for more punishment, ate the lunch buffet and it was the blandest food we ever ate. Burned twice and that was the last time. Which sucks because our business is a stone throw away. Tollhouse food is okay, nothing to jump up and down about, the waitresses are nice. Worleybird's is always friendly and their lunch buffet is reasonably priced, although u better get there early cuz they don't keep it going long. After that dig deep, cuz the menu is expensive. Or it was, may be different since Bev is out. So, for a good meal & good service everytime, lunch or dinner we can always count on La Potosina. NO complaints whatsoever regarding this place! Oh and we discovered an excellent restaurant in Corinth, The China Buffet, located in Walmart parking lot. Well, worth the Saturday night drive!

I agree with the service at doris's. there was one woman there that was an excellent waitress. She worked the lunch and the night girls suck..Worleybird..I don't eat there i can't afford it..Tollhouse is no better. I agree with you on La Potosina. Excellent. We did find a restraunt in Florence called $5 Dollar restraunt and it had pretty good food and an excellent price. It's in the old Mama Blues place. If u want anything good u have to go out of town...just my opinion

~~ side note begins Thank you all for saying where to go/avoid in Savannah. I posted an eatery list under the topic: No good places to eat. I wrote the post that lists every place in Pickwick to go but I wanted to expand on that issue... ~~ side note ends It's not so much about the food because everybody is different in taste. I wanted to know how these establishments treat you. You are a paying customer and in my book the customer usually wins. I hope nobody out there is rude or arrogant to the servers but I want, nay, I demand to be treated well, like I am welcomed into their home. I want all good Samaritans to stand up and say I will not stand for this. The only problem with a small town is no competition. "Where else are you going to go?". Well I am sick of it. I am buying a product/service from you. If the product/service is no good, you’re fired. I will go elsewhere.

I must agree with everybody who stated the Chinese buffet in Corinth. My drink never made it half way, because it was always refilled. I went to Pickwick grill, and our server always smiled, thumbs up. It's set to a 50's theme but I could not believe I was in a 50's diner. If I must choose a 50's theme diner I will choose the one in Savannah ~ next door to Talley’s.

who wrote: what waitress was snotty to you, the morning woman or one of the ladies that work at night? If we are talking about Molly's, it was Frita (unsure of spelling). It seemed, if you knew her, then you were in good graces and got good service BUT .....(see original post) We were there for lunch. The buffet ladies were great though.
