Common Sense wrote: Gay's define themselves by their sexual preference. Like they put rainbow stickers on their cars and all they can ever talk about if being gay. What a sad life. Nothing against gays, just wonder why they have to advertise it. It's your perception that we define ourselves by our sexuality. The fact is, our sexuality is a very small part of who we are. We have other things we talk about, for instance, we are part of a car club for car enthusiasts, we own a 1968 Cadillac Seville convertible. We also own and are restoring a 1975 Carver Mariner cabin cruiser with twin V8's. Almost all of our friends are heterosexual. Besides my partner of 15 years, my best friend is my twin brother, who is heterosexual, so it would stand to reason that we talk of things besides homosexuality. We no more define ourselves by our sexuality than you do. Try again!

perhaps you should brush up on your high school civics.
This country is a Constitutional Republic precisely to protect minorities from bully mobs of which you seem to be involved in.
Homophobia is engendered by patriarchal religions as it makes them look foolish to contradict God in their teachings so they deny science and try to make their hateful views law. These religions deny the reality of our existence and want to return us to another dark ages.
When a majority votes to take the rights of a minority away the court steps in and determines the constitutionality of the law in question and it is struck down when and if it is determined that said law is in violation of the constitution.
If you would prefer a government where gay people are not allowed why not check out Uganda?
They are interested in a solution much like Hitlers.

I think perhaps a problem that homophobes have is grasping the simple reality of human likes and dislikes.
We all have an innate feeling about certain things.
Like you said, gender differences are real and you would think it would be possible to get a homophobe to see why they feel revulsion.
It is the same sense of revulsion that a person who is gay would feel for going against the sexual orientation they were born with.
Looking back on childhood how many gay or straight thought the whole sex thing any way you looked at it was gross?
I remember getting beat up for explaining to another kid who was bigger than me how he was conceived.
The last words I remember him screaming before the lights went out were "My parents would never do anything that nasty!"
Just think if his viewpoint was made into law, the human race would die out (except for the lawbreakers of course :))
Perhaps if the homophobes would stop focusing on the sex act and focus on the LOVE that all couples feel for each other, both gay and straight, we could start building a nicer and more loving world.
Oysters gross a lot of people out. I love em!
Why is homosexuality being attacked while another levitican prohibition is being ignored?
Why are oyster lovers allowed to live?
According to the same laws thrown out from many pulpits to encourage homophobia not only is eating oysters a stoneable offense, refusal to participate in the stonings is also a stoneable offense.
We should all thing about this whenever we pass by another oyster bar without complying with the law as every good (insert your fundamentalist church name here) should.

This is why I feel like a lot of the posting here is *WORTHLESS* except for making an example of anti-gay attitudes. Here's my take on this, and I am *viciously firm* about the following. It's *exactly* the paradigm that I have no patience for people ignoring. None. If I'm talking to someone and they say "Well that is gross!" and I then say, "Well, then by logic, that would also be how *that* person would feel about *this* and so on" -- they can't recognize that *simple, kindergarten-simple* logic, I feel this sense of panic (not trying to be funny) like I'm talking to someone *mentally defective*. I actually feel a panic inside, like I'm talking to someone *who has no ability to reason*. What you said is exactly true; if people literally can't handle the simple, simple concept that *this is the same as that, but reversed*, so *how that person is feeling about that is how you feel about this*, I no longer *care about* talking to them; I just make an example of them to others and show how they're being *clinically senseless*. Thank you for your post.
