An assistant St. Paul police chief was so disturbed by court testimony exposing the department crime lab's bad science that she demanded to know "why no one took action" if people in the unit knew there were problems.
It will be very interesting to see what consequences this will have on Minnesota taxpayers and the criminal justice system. According to the article, Smith became the chief in 2010 and appointed Wuorinen as the asst. chief in charge of the crime lab. Who was in charge before her?
