I know Cindy from where she worked and she is the best. She continues to put her life on the line even when retired. Cindy is an example of the best of the best. Thanks Cindy you protected life just like when working. Always had the greatest respect for you and now is just more of the wonderful person I've known all those years. We have the greatest respect!

I remember Cindy. I don't know what kind of officer she was since I never witnessed her in a situation, but I'll tell you what......back then she had the best butt on the LBPD.

It wouldn't be too hard for her to stretch a suspect's neck and make him do the Chicken. She isn't big, but she's not small either.

Orel is 53 and retired? How does that happen? And she's working some kind of security job? So there's no physical impairment. You are paying for her check every month. There is obviously something wrong with the LBPD retirement program. However, I do congratulate her most sincerely on the arrest. Well done.

Yes, Orel retired last year after 25+ years of service with the Long Beach Police Department. Yes, she might have another job to help pay for the lack of great retirement package the city has for her. Its not shocking that officers retire but still have to get part time or full time positions to pay for medical coverage.

Are you insane?? Did your mommy drop you on your head at the bar? Orel put in over 25 years on the job. I remember when she was brand new in 1981, I think it was. Why shouldn't she get the retirement she earned? You moron!! I can't believe you would even say that stupid comment without having any knowledge of the facts. She's retired now and can work any kind of job she wants. And yes, the public has to pay for it. Shut up already.

Are you writing this from jail after the bank chokeout? Goes to show some just don't appreciate or understand anything. Cindy put her life in danger to protect the citizens and is a hero. Bet the ones at the bank were glad she was there. If you don't know retirement comes after working not before. Cindy deserves retirement. Way to go Cindy.

I find it interesting that you always have an opinion about a police officer's retirement, inevitably a complaint.

You know absolutely nothing about Ms. Orel's career or retirement circumstances, yet you sure didn't let that interfere with your pontification.

Ms. Orel put her time in and took her retirement, she earned it...

Next time, before putting your fingers to the keyboard, take a few moments to thank the people like Ms. Orel, who spent 25 years of their life, protecting you and yours.
