Barking dogs, angry neighbors: A solution?

[Enough Barking]

My neighbor who talks and plays more with his big dog than his own children has been given repeated warnings by multiple neighbors regarding the non-stop barking – for the past 8 years!!! but does not give a damn. At least 100 complaints have been filed and as I write this the dog is barking still.
The Police does not care either. They are too busy with other stuff... They always insist if we (the plaintiff) want to be contacted for the incident. Why would I want to be contacted!?? The problem isn't me, it's the freaking dog and his pet owner! But they never show up anyway.
The Humane Society was called during scorching 114C as the dog was drinking off the pool. They did nothing.
Contacted the city. Nothing.
Threatened to sue the police for lack of action then we were asked to gather some evidence. So we did. Taped multiple sessions of non-stop barking (even when the owner is around the dog).
The barking continues...
And this neighbor isn't the only one either. Dogs bark all over the place mostly people who aren't at home during the day. America is infatuated with pets so I know this problem is rampant and there is little we can do about it. I suppose it's like a crying baby – your own baby does not get on your nerves as much as the others do. But babies don't cry until 8.
And we aren't talking about people here, are we?
So then I suppose we should take matters into our own hands at this point.

I have a neighbor that has had dogs before I moved in and no problem. Over two years ago they got a chocolate Lab. It is a chronic barker. It barked all through the night. The people where home and just ignored it. After months of this I finally called animal control hoping that would be the end of it. No the dog now barks everytime it is let out and the other dogs all bark too now. The owner told animal control that they wanted the dogs to bark because someone was dealing drugs down the street. Animal control and local police have talked to the people and no change. They seem to have a real problem with doing anything to stop the barking. Sort of like people with kids with behavior problems. Everyone has to deal it and they ignore it.
I did talk to the lady and it was like talking to a complete idiot. I tried to reason with her and tell we are really tired of all the barking. Her reply "dogs are going to bark". I told her your dog is a chronic barker and we are really tired of listening to it.
I bought a Dog Silencer Pro ultra sound and audible sound. The dog ignores it. Animal control said it works for most but not all dogs. This dog is a real crazy dog.
I am now seeking an attorney to settle the situation. Not sure that will work either. I am dealing with a sweet old lady and her daughter. That is hard to beat.

Dogs LOVE chocolate, but it'll kill them. Easy to buy, easy to throw over the fence, and much more effective than the usual mental masturbation that takes place on Topix. Am working on a simple, effective way to be rid of dog owners..........get back to ya soon.

Urban legend. Been there done that it just makes them hyperactive and they bark more. It will give them the squirts though. Maybe if you can afford to feed them enough of it they'll die from obesity and cholesterol problems but that's out of my budget.

Radiator fluid is unreliable. It takes too much unless you have direct access to the animal.

Broken glass in meat doesn't do diddly.

Potasium cyanide just irritates thier stomachs and they yak it up before it takes a fatal effect.

Draino wrapped in some toilet paper then wrapped in meat and tossed over has been reported by some others to work but I wouldn't waste my time with it.

Granted getting rid of the owner is the best bet. Doping the dog up and getting the owner mauled is very effective and quality entertainment.

I have a small dog that stays inside all the time except to take care of business, then I let her out in the fenced in back yard. She is only out there for about 5 to 10 minutes and never barks. I have a neighbor that has a 100lbs German Sheppard that stays outside for about 14hrs a day and most of that time she is barking. Long story short I did go and talk to the neighbor and his response was well I am not going to let her in every time she barks, which means F U because he did nothing. What really blows me away is that these people will ask for favors,i.e. barrow gas for the lawn mower, fix my tv and so on. The fool here is my trying to reason with someone who blames the squirrel's in my backyard for his dog barking. This is the last subdivision I will live in and the last time I will ever try to reason with someone who is to stupid to realize that a constantly barking do is a nuisance. If you are one of these people and think you are entitled to you neighbor kneeling before you to ask your grace to kindly quite your animal you are a frickin idiot. Grow up Liberal
