Driver Dies When Truck Crashes On 55 Freeway

A man was killed when his pickup truck hit a guardrail on the southbound Costa Mesa (55) Freeway and slammed head-on into a 20-foot high block wall, authorities said today.

The accident happened around 9:45 p.m. at Meats Avenue, Sgt. Chris Berry of the California Highway Patrol said.

A witness told the California Highway Patrol that victim was driving southbound when it hit the wall.

Nixza, my heart goes out to you, having to endure such a tragic loss. Louis was a wonderful man. He loved you so much, as he often mentioned, and adored his little girl. Though I used to tease him about being the same age as my son, I always considered him a dear friend, as did many of us in his last teaching assignment (we were all very close). Please contact me with memorial services information and if there is anything we can do to help the family, or just to talk. ChefSharonMiller@aol.com

Nixza, Michelle, and Mazzie; i send my condolences. Indeed a tragic loss. He was a good son, father, and brother since he always talked about you in class. I will follow his love and passion for cooking in my career. I pray so God gives you enough strength to overcome this unfair situation.

Since the day of this accident I have done nothing but pray for you and your family and try to understand why and how something like this could have happened. If he did not hit the guardrail what exactly happened?
