Absolutely, mathematics is my strong suit. I make a good living everyday based mathematics as it is the largest part of my profession.Mathematics must not be a strong suit...because how many directions does this gun of yours shoot? If four armed assailants are storming your home the number of rounds either group has is irrelevant...even with a high capacity magazine they could easily out flank you because there are four of them or even just two. Besides...it doesn't matter if it was only one...if you are sitting on the couch watching TV with your family...when he comes through the door and you are unprepared how do you defend yourself then?
Your entire scenario is based on a big fucking what if not facts. If somebody wanted you dead they sure as shit aren't going to charge the gates...and if it is just for a robbery...they are going to turn tail and run after the first shot. Only someone desperate or deranged would risk such a thing like a 4 man armed assault...real life ain't a Sly Stallone movie.
Stallone has made several movies, I like First Blood Part II and The Expendables, but does not mean I have the real world confused with a movie set and script.
The biggest differences I see between you and I, are perception of a situation and preparedness.
I am a worse case scenario person. I am expecting multiple intruders that are armed very well. It does not matter if they flank or column, once they hit my property their “simple” firearm will simply not be enough. I have experience, training, and a plan should my home be attacked regardless if I am sitting on the couch, standing in the den, or changing in the bedroom. Again, this is the difference between you and I, I am prepared and simply waiting. You may feel just as prepared but based on your posts pertaining to this subject, I would say you are relying more on hope than readiness. Your “simple” shotgun will be no match for the fire power that others hold especially when your door is knocked down. After you spend your 2 or 3 shells, reality will overwhelm and you will understand the true meaning of “ I'm fucked.”
My scenario unfortunately is anything but “a big fucking what if” as home invasion happens everyday and is all too real. What is “a big fucking what if,” the words the sheriff uses when he examines the person or persons, that come to my home, brings their “simple” shotgun, and experiences my readiness. You wanted facts, I can do you one better---it is called a statistic. Come to my home and the sheriff will be explaining the definition of a statistic to the next of kin.
This subject is by no means something to be viewed and held lightly. I take the protection of my family, my property, as well as myself very, very seriously. I do not expect or rely on anyone, but myself, to protect what is mine. It is my duty and I am fully prepared to do the protecting for as long as there is a breath in my body. It is that fucking simple.
