Many people from Cosby have grown up and became very successful. My cousin Luke Grooms is an opera singer raised in Cosby and has preformed for the Queen of England. Many others have come successful too. They have raised families, lead active projects in the community, and worked hard everyday of their lives. These people are just as good as anybody else.

Did he go to CCHS round 1991-1995? I think i had chorus with him and he was awesome even then. we all loved to hear him. I'm so glad he's doing that great. i had wondered what happened to him.

That was when Luke went to CCHS. I graduated in 1994 and he was a year behind me. He and his older brother went to CCHS

This town is rundown because no one here cares about education or teaching our kids morals. I find it rather sad the children of the Appalachian area have lower test scores than those of poverty stricken kids in foreign countries.

I went to Grassy Fork and we were 2nd in the state for our test score. And fifty percent of the people that graduated with me (from gfs) are in college now and doing awesome.
SO get your facts together?

Teachers do the best they can with the children that are given to them. You can only reverse so many of the bad things that parents have already imbedded into their children BEFORE they get in to school. You also need to remember that most foreign countries DO NOT educate all of their children!

No, the problem is that you pill head parents expect the schools to do everything for your child. If you dont teach your child the basics of life in the home, then it's impossible for teachers to be able to deal with their stupid, disrespectful, and ignorant a$$es.

no nick the problem is you low grade teachers who plan their lesson based on what they can print off the net think you are smarter and better than the people you are supposed to be serving.i have dealt with you arrogant teachers many times just a bunch of peowith the lowest degree you can get.i do a better job at teaching my children ...school in this area is nothing more than a babysitter service.

If you look at some of the success stories of sports in the town, we have made it from a high school stand point. Having athletes such as Drew Schreder, Cory Valentine, Lexi Lowery, Tate Parton, Tiffany Smelcer, The Lowes, Timmy Blakely and many more come out of a small town high school like Cosby to go and play collegially is a huge accomplishment for Cosby and Cocke County as a whole.
