There is no threat out there. The only issue is that horrible pat-down by TSA. Just say no!

What will Somali leaders have to say about this? They're quick to speak out about justice and discrimination when a fellow Somali is arrested for anything but are full of denial that they are an immigration group that has failed - should say haven't even tried - miserably at assimilation and radiate hatred of the U.S.

Why would they go home, with free room and board!! Will this be Paul Wellstone's legacy?? Was at the grocery store yesterday-- behind a Somali mother and kids--- they always need 2 carts-- one for groceries and one for kids--- takes forever-- as the clerk has to run the items that don't qualify for ADC back!!!!! We now have a Homeland Security Department larger than GM-- to set up sting operations on groups we bring in for free-- are we really that stupid????????

there was no evidence that Mohamud had any current link to Somalia or was a sympathizer of al-Shabaab

No link to Smalia except that he's Smalian.

And certainly not a sympathizer of al-Shabaab except for that part about wanting to kill Americans like...al-Shabaab.

Keep telling the sheeple that they need to trust them all. Keep walking off the set of the View. Keep sticking your heads in the sand.

Me, I'm keeping my family away from lil' smalia and away from big "Christian" events.

Personally, if they hate it here so bad, I would say we should give each one of them a one way ticket back to the continent from whence they came. That would be a well spent purpose for our tax dollars.

Seriously, we better keep vigilante in the Twin Cities. Some of the same skinnies who were in Mogadishu shooting at our troops, are here.

Jury finds shop manager guilty of food-stamp fraud
Sixth defendant to be convicted in $4million scheme

Friday, September 17, 2010 02:52 AM
BY KATHY LYNN GRAY AND GINA POTTHOFF

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

A federal jury returned eight guilty verdicts yesterday against a Somali immigrant involved in a $4 million food-stamp fraud scheme.

Shuceeb Geedi, 51, showed no emotion as bailiff Andy Quisumbing read the verdicts in U.S. District Court in Columbus. About 10 of Geedi's friends and relatives remained silent.

After the verdicts, Assistant U.S. Attorney Dave Bosley said investigators from the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Department of Agriculture saved taxpayers millions by stopping the fraud.

Geedi was released on his own recognizance. A sentencing date has not been set. He could be sent to prison for 80 years.

He was found guilty on all charges - fraud, money laundering, conspiracy and theft - for exchanging food stamps and Women, Infants and Children program vouchers for cash and phone cards at two Columbus markets.

He and seven other men were indicted in January 2008 for the scheme, which involved four markets that catered to the Somali community and lasted from January 2002 to August 2006.

Federal prosecutors said Geedi played a key role as manager of two of the stores.

Geedi also used money from the federal programs to buy store inventory at Wal-Mart and to pay store rent, Assistant U.S. Attorney Laura Denton said in closing arguments Wednesday.

Denton said Geedi managed operations and money at the City Dollar store, 3350 Cleveland Ave., and Marwaas Market, 4181 W. Broad St., and sometimes laundered money through U.S. bank accounts.

The defense argued that a culture and language gap prevented Geedi from knowing his actions were wrong. A translator was at Geedi's side throughout the trial.

Defense attorney James D. Owen said prosecutors didn't have enough proof to convict his client. Witnesses were even inconsistent about who owned and operated the stores, Owen said.

Geedi was "merely a patsy" in the scheme, Owen said. He had no comment after the verdict.

Soon after he was indicted, Geedi pleaded guilty to conspiracy and food-stamp fraud. Then he withdrew the pleas and asked for a trial.

Other stores involved in the scheme were the Ohio Grocery and Halal Meats, 2815 Cleveland Ave., and Muna Market, 3770 W.

Broad St.

Five others involved in the scheme have pleaded guilty and been sentenced:

• Zeidi Said Omar, unlawful food-stamp redemption and failure to file income tax. He was sentenced to six months house arrest and ordered to pay $200,000 in restitution.

• Ali Ahmed Said, conspiracy and fraud; sentenced to six months house arrest and six months in a halfway house and ordered to pay $200,000 in restitution.

• Mohamed Hussein, fraud and filing a false tax return; sentenced to six months house arrest and six months in a halfway house and ordered to pay $486,589 in restitution.

• Ahmed S. Jama, fraud and filing a false tax return; sentenced to six months house arrest and six months in a halfway house and ordered to pay $135,000 in restitution.

• Abdulhakim Said Abukar, conspiracy and fraud; sentenced to six months house arrest and ordered to pay $66,666 in restitution.

Two other defendants, Khalif Mohamed Abukar and Saidi Kadi Sheikuna, remain at large.

Somali gangs forced girls into prostitution, feds say
Tuesday, November 9, 2010 02:50 AM
BY AMY FORLITI

ASSOCIATED PRESS

MINNEAPOLIS - Twenty-nine people have been indicted in a sex-trafficking ring in which Somali gangs in Minneapolis and St. Paul allegedly forced girls younger than 14 into prostitution in Ohio, Minnesota and Tennessee.

A 24-count indictment, unsealed yesterday in U.S. District Court in the Middle District of Tennessee, said one of the gangs' goals was recruiting females younger than 18, including some younger than 14, and forcing them into prostitution so the defendants could get money, marijuana or liquor.

The indictment details several instances in which young Somali or African-American girls were taken from place to place and forced to engage in sex acts with multiple people. One girl was younger than 13 when she was first prostituted. Another victim was 18 when she was raped by multiple men in a hotel room, the indictment said.

Just my being a skeptic here...but I wonder why it took until the 8th paragraph before the peaceful religion of Islam was mentioned.

Also, I am going to bet that the phrase the peaceful religion of Islam does not make it past the censors unscathed.

It`s about time to round up every Somali in this country, and send them to their god Allah via a bullit in the head.

Sorry if I offend anyone, but if this country doesn`t get on with driving these scum out by force, the judicial and police of this great country need to turn it`s head as they let us the public, do what the government seems to not want to do. Exicute and cleanse America now from these scum.

Mass immigration from the world's most backward and cruel cultures is a bad idea. It's immigration negligence and the government officials that approved it should be sharing the cell with this guy. Here was a problem safely 8,000 miles away that would've never impacted Portland, but for the negligent acts of our government. The war is over there, let's have the sense to leave it over there.

Have a little common sense, end Somali immigration. Way more people than we could ever take are in line from perfectly compatible places that don't hate us.
