Let's see, 300 comments about Wegmans, 205 about a garbage Bills QB (sorry for the redundancy) and 2 comments about the life/death of a child, both from out-of-towners. Nice priorities people.

Why would an person do this. I am going to school to become a social worker and the more i read and find thing like this the more i want to help these children. No person child or not should be treated like this in anyway shape of form. If i was to find this woman I dont know if i could stop myself from slapping her. To read stuff like this happening one county away is totally unreal. I hope she get just what she should get.

Once again a story about how child protective services, or some form of social services did nothing when called. This poor baby suffered his entire life. A 6 MONTH old weighs 15 pounds. It is very sad and hopefully the DA's office there prosecutes her to the fullest extent.

how could anybody do that to ANYONE?? especially to their own child? it makes me shaky just thinking about it...and to think all these years i've taken for granted a truly wonderful family. i could have been born into much worse circumstances...that is just awful!!

This is unbelievable!!! Where was social services? Where were the police? Where were child protective services? Where were the neighbors? Didn't any friends notice anything was wrong? What the hell is going on in this world??? This is a baby for Christ's sake. I hope to God that they throw the parents in jail, throw away the key and give the baby a brand new life with foster parents or a loving adopting family. This baby deserves a better life than the one he /she already has.

I am crying right now. I am a mother of 4 and can not fathem what this poor little guy has gone through. Mommies are suppose to protect their babies not hurt them. How he must of felt knowing he had no protection and he needed to be protected from his own mother. The saddest thing of all is no matter what she did to him he loved her unconditionally. I wish i could hold him and protect him love him like a mommy should. My children and I will send our prayers in hopes he gets the love and protection he deserves. God bless him.

I thought you had to let child services (once they were called on you) in so they could see the condition of the place you live in, where the child/children sleep and to make sure there was food in the place. Then again most people with nothing to hide have no problem having their place inspected.
Just wondering why they couldn't of gotten some kind of search warrent or order that would allow them to see the condition inside the place.

This woman (I use the term loosely ) should be the poster person for sterilization. My dogs live better than this poor kid. What the hell is wrong with people ?

I read that book. I can't believe he has turned into such a "sane" (for lack of better words) person. The sad truth is that it happens so much everywhere. I'm just glad he made it out of that situation alive.

i'm wagering there will likely be very little consequence paid for this horror too.

I just finished Dave's book and it tore my heart out. What a terribly sad book. It's also sad to think of the countless of cases that go unreported. My heart goes out to all the defenseless children who suffer at the hands of an adult. GOD BLESS!!!!!!
