So, I have now decided to NEVER give another one of my hard-earned dollars to Steve Candela. I have been going there for years, and shame on me. I have seen him yell at his staff, wife, and kids many times. I have seen him be rude to customers more times then i can put into type. Not to mention that its a 50 50 chance you may get the correct order. This last encounter has been the last straw. I saw and heard him be mean and rude to a child who was obviously disabled. The young boy asked for his order, but was not sure what it was under. Steve raised his voice and spoke down to the child, saying he needed to go find someone else to collect his order. Steve then turned around and mocked the boy to his son and wife. He did this in plain view of the other customers waiting.
I left the pizzeria and informed the childs grandmother(i think his grandmother) what had happened. I then went home and called to cancel my order. No suprise that Steve was rude, and asked me what he was supposed to do with my order. I told him where he could put it!

HAHAHAHA, he is a total douche and has always been. The community deserves a better pizza joint with owners that care, and I don't mean only care about robbing it's patrons of money. I worked in marathon for 3 years many years ago. I'm shocked no one has run their business out of town for the way he acts and treats others. I stopped buying food there, we opted for the gas station pizza over contributing anything to him & his family. They contribute NOTHING to the community so why support them being ass's?!?!

Yea, I heard this guy is a real freaking winner. I absolutely refuse to do ANY business with this jerk off so I hope his business goes to hell and fast. Marathon is a small enough town to where one ass is enough and I know of one and its NOT Steve so he needs to get the frick outta town. And if he still is doing business like that, he needs to be reported to the BBB and closed! oh wait, maybe I will be the one to report him cuz I have my hand in this whole business etiquette thing and abuse towards customers/employees is very reportable! So hey Steve..... run yur shop right or you won't be running it AT ALL!

What we have here is a classic case of small man syndrome. otherwise known as a napoleon complex. The man has absolutely no redeeming qualities as a business owner, nor as a food service professional. If you patronize his establishment be warned that no mistake will ever be his fault, and no dispute will ever end in the customer being right...ever. It's sad that he's been able to stay open for so long. He should have been run out of that town a long time ago.

If you don't like it, then don't go there. And who will you all turn on next?

That's why I don't go there:) Turn on? I'm so sorry, the First Amendment must have been changed recently, I was still under the impression that we had Freedom of Speech. I will "turn on" any person who treats others like garbage=)

Oh wait, I just looked up the Constitution, it's still the same.

Totally agree!!! Haven't gotten food there in years. He screwed the PTO out of money when they did a fund raiser there. Told them he didn't hardly any business that night so it wasn't worth his time. However the person that was in charge of that fund raiser drove by the place a number of times to see how it was going, and the lot was packed each time. Due to the fact that people knew of the fund raiser, and made a point of going there that night. Second of all their is a group that goes to Hubbards every morning for coffee and breakfast, about 6-7am, and parked in his lot to stay off the street. Now of course his place is even near being open at that point, nor does he have deliveries at that time, but this asshole had his lawyer write a letter to Hubbards stating that if their customers parked in his lot he would have them ticketed and towed.Because he is too much of a coward and dickhead to go over face to face and ask nicely for them not too. He could have even made up some half ass excuse like insurance purposes or something. But not this asshole. Have no trouble believeing any of these stories. I encourage everyone to spread the word about this douchebag!!

Funny calling him a coward on a public forum. Why don't you just walk across the street and tell him? You should use a proxy server.

Steve, the owner of NY Pizza, is a bad guy. I was in there not too long ago and saw him making fun of the Marathon ppl that plan the Maple fest. He had all types of nasty things to say. Not sure why? Must b he doesn't like them

no you're not the only one. His wife is also very rude to workers, customers and ppl at other places around town, stores for instance who have to wait on them. But just like the former owners, they will only be here until they have to claim a profit on their taxes and actually pay taxes..that is the year the shop will be transferred to a different family memeber and they will take over a different location.
They have figured out how to use the system It's legal, but it's not right.

Okay, personality wise the parents might need some coaching, but I like the pizza is better than the bowling alley. The bigger concern for downtown is the bright new day dawning at the HS. Parents, take this opportunity to make good things happen.

Sorry but I know the owner from little Italy and he is a good guy who works very hard to support his family and build his business just like the owners of A pizza and more. All stand up men in my books
