What a shock Chuck McClanahan is going to run for mayor. I just can't believe that he would run for this position. What a shock, will it ever change?

I find it kind of strange that one mayor can pick the other mayor. I think the election is in May here. Small Town Politics at it's finest.

This town will change as soon as everyone goes and votes the good ole boys out. I know Chuck, but dont want him as mayor. Another one in this town born with a silverspoon in his mouth. His daddy worked hard for his money and Chuck had it handed to him. I was hoping for someone else to run for mayor.

hey Tiger Coach .. what else is new about the people from that town. Same old same old .. and there is a new group of up and comers .. 25-30 year olds acting like somebody when all it boils down to is their grandparents busted the butts off and died before they could enjoy it .. funny thing is lots of them are moving back to Corsicana because thats the only place they can make it, and yes their parents will control their lives forever .. by the way .. everyone vote, I know and like Chuck as well but it's time for that town to take a new direction

The “old farts” leave the office then their children are next to ruin this town…
Corsicana will never change…
A bunch of spoiled rich people that never had to work hard for anything, totally agree…
I know many of those around here…

Of course the mayor will chose the next one. That’s all about, they don’t want to lose control of this town. Same people, same policies, same bad ideas, no positive change…

Hey ATX, You're correct that this town needs a new direction. I really believe the census might help us here in this town. Add 1 or 2 new seats on the council like many towns around us. Change it forever and break the 3 vote majority. Elect them at large like the mayor. Hard to stack the deck with 5 or 6 seats.

What makes him so sneaky? Voters need to know.

Navarro County Times says that Emmaline Gonzales is going to run, too. I'd be interested in opinions on both candidates. Not that I can vote for either of them. And Sheesh, I'd vote for you if I could!

The problem is the options available. All you have to do is listen to Gonzales for a few minutes and you'll know she's not qualified to run a lemonade stand. McClanahan may be better spoken, but he's going to be more of the same old politics there has always been. No matter who gets it, there's still going to be the biggest problem of all. The power hungry back stabbing crooked city manager needs to go. Until that happens, NOTHING changes.

It seems to me they never tell. They just like to make statements like that. The rest of us are left to wonder whether it's just an unfounded rumor by someone who has a personal axe to grind or if there are any actual facts to back it up.
