I am wondering if anyone knows who is hiring in corsicana. I have looked at the obvious sites, cor. sun/ craigslist, indeed etc. and haven't found to many jobs that i felt were promising. I did apply for a couple of different manager positions at unnamed stores, but don't think i will be getting a job at either because I'm not fluent in spanish. Both were looking for someone bilingual. It doesn't matter that i can sign, speak fluent german and fluent arabic... Lets hire another hispanic to take care of the illegals!

I know this sounds racial but i am in no way a racist, just frustrated that they are the only race that can migrate over here and we cater to them.. Press 1 for english 2 for spanish, where is 3 for german 4 for tai 5 for french....lol

Sounds like a couple different debates in here. I say around here a good jobs come from word of mouth. If you are new here and dont have a serious degree, good luck. Small towns like this one take care of their own.

As far as the hispanic thing i totally agree that the need for bilingual people is mainly from illegals coming over in mass amounts. They dont take the time to learn the language, but businesses still want their monies. Until we get a grip on illegal immigration, there will be a greater need for bilingual people unfortunately. Maybe take a spanish course with your hard earned money so you have a better shot at earning theirs?

Hi Newhere. I feel ya on the lack of jobs here and agree w/ the "take care of their own" remark. If you're fluent in those other languages, maybe you could get some sort of job using the internet doing translations??? I wonder if the TYC has any deaf inmates?? Do you have an undergraduate degree? Ennis and Hillsboro are fairly close so you may have to expand your search. The job market here is pretty darned awful.

Most of the jobs availabe are factory jobs (10 or less per hour). Hispanics are taking those jobs.
Good job?
What do you consider a good job?
To work for the city only with connections but if you have been reading the forums they fight like dogs for those positions...

City jobs good? Maybe for a few, but for most, not so much. Think about it, if there are 5 really good jobs, that leaves about 250 that suck. There is an aristocrat mentality there. The rest are nothing and treated that way.

That can change w/ the election coming up. If you're still here, I hope you go out and vote Saturday if you didn't do it early. Same goes for the others on this thread!
