The voting public has spoken and the majority rules.

Thank You to all who offered themselves as a candidate, as in any election choice is important. By a choice in an election the public was able to voice their concerns.

I think you meant to type "griping", JGK. Unless you believe some to be a bit overly excited about the results. ;)

You are correct. :-) I need a proof reader on my typing sometimes. Also left out the word having from: By having a choice ..

Hehe. You know me, I love to pick. Usually I reserve it for trolls but I couldn't resist picking on you this time. Open a door and I'll walk through it. That's just how I roll! ;o) Glad you're happy w/ the results. We'll see how things go. Clearly, my favorites didn't win but I'll be open minded and hope the best for the city. That's all most of us want anyway, including all of the candidates. We just all have different ideas on how to get where we need to be. Hopefully the winners took everyone's concerns to heart and will address them during their terms. If not, there's another election in a couple of years!

I agree, here we go again. One day people will learn. Its unfortunate that it takes screwing everything up to figure out that change is needed.

alright I just added the numbers up from the Daily Sun website and it looks like only 2049 people voted in this election. If that is in the case in a town of 23,000 +/- people this is very sad. There will never be any change at city hall and this town will continue to decline if the people are not choosing to vote. The GOB party (good ole boy) are apparently the only people who got out and voted.

The problem was too many prospects. If we had only 2 Prater would have won…

As you all know JGK is a city official and he is happy that his "mafia" won again.

JGK is not a city official he was the Civil Service Director.

The deck has been stacked high for the next two years. I only hope some will come back and run again for office.

Mr. Andrews got screwed on his election based on what they did to him. He wont be back probably!

Vicky needs to come back and run again in two years.

Mr. Ralph Gonzales lives in pct. 2 and should run against Ruby Williams or Kip Pct.2 county Commissioner.

I don't follow your reasoning on that one. Even if you gave all the other votes to Prater, McClanhan still got 61% of the vote. To be honest I expected a run-off. Based on the number of signs he had in front of residential homes I expected Ralph Gonzales to get more votes than 96. Those folks with his signs either did not vote, could not vote or voted for another candidate.
Precinct Four voters went to the polls in higher percentages than any other precinct. Dana Collins was able to get more supporters in precinct Four than both candidates combined did in precinct three. Anyway I am still glad we had contested races and there was a choice on the ballot.

I hate to see Stephen leave and wish Dana had won. Nothing new. Only job security for certain city employees. Another 2 years of yes men, and no change.

Totally agree, AG. IMO, Andrews should sue the pants off the city and then run in 2 years once he's cleared his name and hopefully the CM's office. I hope Vicky runs again, too, as well as Dana. I don't know Ralph but he seems like a good enough guy from what I've read but I've also read that Wms is a good person.

FYI -- Dick Martin is Pct. 2 County Commissioner and it's Kit, not Kip who is the Pct. 1 County Commissioner.
