Let's just hope that the new council will review the budget, listen to the citizens, and do a real evaluation of the performance of the city.
I would like to ask those that do not know to review the new complaint procedure which is now online at City Hall. This is something I asked for about 6 years ago and we finally have a start to tract concerns that have been called in.
www.ci.corsicana.tx.us
Look on the Left Hand side Red Block entitled
Citizen Action Center
Will be nice to follow how long it takes to complete concerns / complaints turned in
Also in case you do not know, under the Financial Department you can see the annual budget, annual audit, weekly check register, and a very minimal financial report that in my opinion is pretty much a waste of time. It is not as detailed as in years past. But there are a few good reports that are added in.

Really disappointed of the election results.
When are the citizens going to realize that we have to give the opportunity to other people to govern?
How are we going to see the difference if we donít allow them to do it?

You are always faulting the people who voted for not thinking like you.

Maybe you spend your time faulting the ones who could have voted but did not bother to at all.

I don't know if Mr. Wasabi was placing blame on the voters or on those who didn't vote or both but personally, I am disappointed and borderline ashamed at the turn out in such a heated election. Chuck did a good job getting the vote out, regardless of what his methods were and the rest of the candidates worked their tails off, too. And for what? Seriously, do only 10% of the people in this town give a damn about it?

I wish Chuck the best and hope he enjoys his time in office and does a good job. I have no reason to think that he won't. My worry is that things will not change, we will keep shrinking and all that will be left out here are Sr. citizens and the country club set. Regular people need jobs and will go wherever they can find one for the most part. That or go on the dole which only makes our situation worse. I applaud Chuck for bringing back TOP and had lunch there today. It was very good. Now he needs a plan to bring in decent jobs for younger folks so they'll stick around their hometown instead of moving away. I hope he will start his term with an open mind, a sharp ax and a vision for a better Corsicana!
