What ever happened to the Corry Drive In? Years ago when I lived there that was an awesome place to go. Also the Corry Theater. I think they were ran by the same family?

it was still playing movies last summer, at least. Last time I went there the sound was all screwed up, to the point where I left before the movie was over, and it has about the most disgusting bathroom I've ever seen. Not a very well run place.

Oh thats too bad. Back when I was young it was such a nice hangout. Loved the people who ran it.

Believe it and the theater were owned by the Blatt family who also owned some in Erie. The theater was run by their son-in-law - Jansen family I think. The old Rex used to have double features on Saturday with dance contests and prizes at intermission.

Indeed the bathrooms are a reason to never go there again.

seems as though it is closed this year. Just called to see what was playing and the # is disconnected. Being that it should be the middle of their season now things dont look good. I live in erie and cant say for sure either...

I was wondering why there were no times listed in the newspaper this year. We have been to the Sunset a few times this year, but were looking forward to going back to Corry. I started searching the web to find info and saw it posted that it has been closed. I believe it was for sale for a couple years but no one had any interest. It's true, the bathrooms and sound system needed repaired, but it was so cheap and a great family time. I wish someone would fix it up nice and reopen it! I loved that it was always charged by the carload, not per person, but maybe that's why they didn't make enough money?

yeah I miss that drive in too. I alwyas went there with my fam when I was a kid. Lol we use to pile as many people as we could in the car or truck and just take blankets and we had a great time. Would be awesome for someone to buy it and fix it up.

Ha I honestly doubt that one. The only sex you ever had was with Mikey Middlefinger and his 4 buddies.

I did roar on the shore with a girl Brittany.
Her family owns it. The grandfather had a heartack and they closed the thing down, I believe they still own it though as of now; but they won't be opening it for movies again anytime soon.

My dad owns the Corry Drive In and it IS up to code. We did close because my dad did have a heart attack and we DID have issues with sound. And my daughter is Brittany (thank you!!!!! That was great). It was way to expensive to upgrade because of film companies updating. Like 200.000 in new equipment. And our restrooms were not bad
.. I cleaned them for 20 years.

I have a question that doesnt involve negativity.someone said the screen is hollow inside & there are inside stairs to the roof of it. And is there any old movie posters or other historical things ( old photos etc)that might be salvageable.
