7 businesses cited for critical health violations

The county health department are obsessive. The so called "critical" violations are retarded. You're safer eating in many of these places than your own homes.

I'm not saying they shouldn't have rules or inspect, they need to, but the way they label these establishments is ridiculous. It's as if it's not safe to eat there. It is safe.

Do you realize what they mean by "sanitizer" is soap? So...when was the last time you tried serving dishes that weren't washed?

Do you realize there are two separate containers hooked up to a commercial dishwasher...one contains the detergent and one contains the sanitizer.....

seriously, they apparently are not aware of that fact.
It seems logical that family germs, living in a closed environment, are less dangerous than community germs, if you will, existing in a restaurant.

There are not always two separate containers hooked up. Look at any big restaurant dishwasher...there's only one which is a combo soap/sanitizer. I've worked at all of them. Typically, there's only one. Now how digusting is that??

The Boro Bar in Edinboro had a ton of violations last summer that I read about in the paper...I've been there recently and I can tell you that they didn't fix any of the things they were cited for.

It makes me mad that if you own a business and know the right people, nothing bad will ever happen to you (like getting your business closed down). Instead, they get slapped on the wrist with some measly fines....

The bathroom doesn't have running water or soap.

There is mold in the soda guns behind the bar.

They were supposed to tape the edges of the carpets down behind the bar so no one trips...guess what? No tape.

I was a bartender and we had to soak the soda guns everynight... then the owner would clean them out in the morning. They are very hard to keep clean, but you have to keep on it. No running water in the bathrooms how do the bartenders wash their hands? I would not go there if I was paid. The tape on the carpet, well that would be more of a safety hazard.
